I just had a knock at my front door. It was the meter reader who wanted to know if I would help get her car unstuck. I walk outside, and there is her car, IN THE MIDDLE OF MY FRONT LAWN, where she had parked it so she could read my meter. It's been rainy and the ground is soft so her wheels just slipped, leaving about an 8foot long by 6 inch deep set of 4 tire tracks ON MY LAWN!
Can anyone suggest a reasonable explanation as to why she would park ON MY LAWN instead of, you know, in the driveway where normal people park?
nope, didn't think to get pictures while she was still here. I grabbed a tow strap and pulled her out and she took right off . I can get pictures of the tire marks when the rain lets up, though.
WTAF? Yeah, pictures, phone calls, and no you won't help her get out, she needs to call the city/company to send a truck.
No truck! That will just make the damage worse!
Sorry, but I have no idea.
Yeah, but I wouldn't want to touch it in case they claimed that it was my assistance that caused damage. At this point they're paying to repair the damage from the car getting there, they can sure as hell pay to repair damage from getting it out too.
I wonder how long she sat in her car saying " shitshitshitshitshit ShIt!" Before coming to the conclusion that she had to ask you for help thinking being caught with a tow truck or something would be worse than just fessing up!
Sorry. We fired the lawn guy because they left tire marks in our lawn when they mowed too wet of a lean.

I would still call ASAP. Depending on how hard it's raining I'd also still go out and take pics.
I'd be pissed for sure, but DH (who does all the yard work) would lose his fucking mind. Oh man.
apalettepassion.wordpress.com/ WHO IS BONQUIQUI!?!?!?!??!
"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
Yeah, she should be mortified. Why did she think that was a good decision?
"Hmmm let's see, I could pull over to the side of the road, pull into the driveway, or I could drive up in the middle of the lawn. I feel lazy so I vote lawn".
Pictures, document, and a good stiff drink would be in my hand. There would be no logical reason anyone could give me that they just NEEDED to park on my lawn. That are what roads and driveways are for.
I am dying! DH works for the power company. I can't wait to tell him about this!
Mine too, LOL.
And this (well, and dog bites, and labor costs) is why power companies are eliminating meter-readers and switching to the automatic ones that you just drive down the street to read. LOLOLOL
