Please help a newbie pick a handbag

I saw two bag in TJMax that I like one was a Cole Haan the other a Tomi they are both $179 which do you like better. I check other websites and they are cheaper at TJMax.

Those are so different to me that they don't really "compare" well and if I'm being honest I don't love either.

The Tumi would be okay if you were looking for a laptop type bag, but you said handbag so I'm thinking an everyday purse.

I do like the Cole Haan, but I don't thing the weave is really practical or classic.

Have you checked the Nordstrom Anniversary sale or any of the sale sites lately (like Gilt or Rue La La?)

I've seen the woven Cole Haan bags in person and they are fantastic. I'd take that over the Tumi, especially since the Tumi is nylon. For $179.99 at TJ Maxx, I'd go with leather. The Tumi will go on clearance at that price. I have a woven bag that I use all the time and it's one that draws a lot of compliments. CH has been doing woven bags for years and they will be around for quite some time. Mine is already 3-4 years old.

I can't see the Tumi one, but I think Cole Haan is the way to go. I don't love the woven look, but if choosing only between 2, that one is better.
