What movies have you seen lately? What are you looking forward to?
I recently saw the movie About Time with Rachel McAdams and thought it was wonderful! It's a very touching romantic comedy that I thought was quite original. I definitely recommend that one.
The last movie I saw at the theater was Guardians of the Galaxy, and I really enjoyed that one too. I'm looking forward to seeing Sin City 2 and The Giver when they come out on DVD. I plan to go to the theater to watch the next installment of the Hunger Games and the Hobbit.
My H and I have been on a kick of old cult comedies. We watched Porky's, Police Academy, Hot Shots, and Animal House, all very funny. I was surprised to see a very young Kim Cattrall in Porky's - I can see why they cast her as Samantha Jones in Sex and the City . Every so often we do movies with a certain theme, like all the James Bond flicks, superhero movies, fantasy, etc. I get almost all of my movies at the library.

I have not seen any new movies in forever so I'm happy to hear suggestions too!
I actually go to the movies maybe once a year, last movie I saw in theater was Anchorman 2 on Christmas. We were going to see Jersey Boys this summer but it went out of the theater too quickly.
I decided I wanted to be a teenager and watch Divergent. They had me until the very end...when it got kinda campy. DH and I used to watch a ton of movies. We got to get back into that! My new town has a VIDEO STORE!!! I hadn't seen one of those in years! LOL

Wow!
DH and I literally ask the girl, "So, do we get membership cards and everything?!" LOL It's like spotting Elvis these days!
The Blockbuster right near me just closed, which makes me sad because it was right next door to my pizza place. I used to browse the movies while waiting for my pizza to be ready.
MrsMB I saw Divergent recently too and thought it was exciting and interesting for the dystopian/post-apocalyptic genre. I think Shailene Woodley is a very good actress. I didn't quite buy Kate Winslet in her role, though.
Other movies I have opinions on, let's see...Noah was just awful, awful I tell you! It was a big departure from the biblical story, which isn't bad in itself, but the manufactured drama was seriously painful to watch. Transcendence sucked ass. I can't make it any plainer than that LOL. Computers taking over the world? Meh.
Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler (from 2009) was cute and family-friendly. Delivery Man with Vince Vaughn was funny; That Awkward Moment was pretty good, especially if you like Zac Efron; For a Good Time, Call...was surprisingly good! I found it on Demand randomly one night and decided to watch it. It's from 2012, about two girls who run a phone sex line. Single Moms club was also good. I like a lot of Tyler Perry movies.
I have a bunch of movies on hold at the library right now, including Think Like a Man Too, Moms' Night Out, Edge of Tomorrow, Captain America: Winter Soldier, The Grand Budapest Hotel.
HoneySpider Have you seen Gravity? It came out about a year ago. I actually didn't like it. I expected it to be amazing based on the reviews and the hype, but I just couldn't get into it. There were a lot of things that were scientifically off and I didn't "feel" for Sandra Bullock's character as much as they were trying to make me. I know this is probably an unpopular opinion. I like other "lost in space"-type movies, but this just didn't resonate with me.

No, I wanted to because I love Sandra Bullock but I didn't hear great things about it and we never got around to it.

I'm one of the people that liked Gravity, and I don't space movies. Well except Armageddon, but come, good movie.
If you can find it, I don't know if it exists on dvd, there's a cult following 80's camp horror movie, Student Bodies. It is a MUST SEE.
The last movie I saw at the theater was As Is Above Is So Below. I don't like going to the movies much, I don't have the patience to sit and watch. I like to do things while I'm watching, but I will only see The Hobbit in the theater first.
We watched all but the last 5 minutes of the newest Captain America movie on an airplane this summer. Hoping to find a redbox coupon so we can finish it
I think as far as recent movies we've seen, Guardians of the Galaxy is the only one. Definitely loved it though!
Other than that, we've been binge-watching TV shows on Netflix quite a bit lately.
This week I rented Draft Day. I personally liked it, but I could see how it would be boring to some!
In theaters: Let's Be Cops (H's choice lol) It was actually pretty funny!
Currently I'm more focused on my fall TV. I don't have much time for movies, unfortunately! I used to be so current before I got married haha! I should probably binge watch a few flicks to be a little more current.
I'm starting to get interested in Gone Girl, although I have no idea what it's about. I think I will wait to watch it on DVD. I much prefer to watch movies at home.

We rarely ever go to movies but have somehow been to two in the lasts couple weeks. We saw Gone Girl, which I thought was well done. We also saw the Equalizer, which I wasn't a fan of. Actually I was disappointed because I almost always like Denzel movies, but his last two have been very "ehh."
