What a great opportunity. I think it's okay to even admit that - that you want to advance your career and leadership skills, but this is your first mentor and you'd like to get her input on what would make it a productive relationship. Ask about her: if she's ever mentored anyone before and what the experience was like, what she likes and doesn't like about her job, what drew her to legal, what she's found to be useful and not useful in her career, how she networks successfully, how she juggles work-life balance, etc. What are the expectations of the match, at least until it develops on its own organically - regular meetings? phone calls? On an as-needed basis? (I'm not asking you to answer in this post, just as a suggestion to bring up with her).
It seems strange to me that they'd match you with someone outside your field, but if it's more of a confidence building role I think it might actually be a good thing to have some outside perspective, you know?
