The best part of house hunting was my H finding the absolute oddest things about a house. For example we found a paper mache moon hanging in an otherwise empty room so that was the space house lol. His knack for finding odd things helped us remember the houses.
I hope you find something. We actually bought during the winter so it can be done but it does take a little longer.
We found our house in the winter after a month of searching. I started to think that we should take a break when all of a sudden we found our house and bought it. Don't lose hope! There's a house out there for you.
Yea... It sucks. It took us about a year to find our house. Granted, we weren't in a super huge hurry or anything, so don't let me scare you. However, our realtor is a friend, and she basically always had her ears and eyes open for a house that would meet our qualifications.

jjwritergirl when we bought our house we looked at it/put the offer in sometime in Feb but it was listed in Dec, right before Christmas IIRC so you never know!
It's so frustrating, I know We put our offer in for our house a few days before Christmas, so sometimes it can work out well during the winter! Things also tend to move slower in the winter, from what I saw, so you don't have to decide on putting in an offer right away.
We put in an offer a few days before Christmas too. Given since it was a short sale it took us like 8 weeks to hear back... but still! Don't give up hope just because of the season.

Ugh, house hunting is the worst. The offer/inspection/purchase process was a hassle too. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find something great and it's smooth sailing!
