If you've been to Vegas recently, tell me all about it!
Where did you stay? Would you recommend it?
How long were you there for?
What shows did you see?
H and I are thinking of staying there for three or four nights in February. My IL's said that when they went, they stayed at The Paris and loved it, but that was several years ago. Anyway, neither of us have been there before, so anything that you would recommend (or not recommend, for that matter) would be really helpful.
My younger sister lives there (well she did up until last month) so I have been there tons of times but have only stayed at the MGM last year when she got married. I always stay at her house otherwise.
The MGM is nice and is a good location. I would recommend it to anyone. It is large but there is lots going on there.
Stayed at the VDARA and absolutely loved it. The biggest reason is that there is no casino. It makes it a lot more chill place. It was gorgeous and the service awesome.
We saw cirque LOVE it was freaking awesome...we also caught a Santana concert while we were there. I took me mags there for his 50th
Where did you stay? Would you recommend it? We stayed at the Wynn and it was BEAUTIFUL!! They had amazing restaurants, a great pool and a pretty phenomenal gym.
How long were you there for? Not very long at all! We got there Monday morning and left Wednesday morning. (It was an actual work trip for my friends).
What shows did you see? Didn't see any shows. We really didn't have any time. I wanted to see the Michael Jackson tribute, though. I just drank...pretty much the whole time we were there!
ETA: I had the most insanely amazing breakfast at Hash House a Go Go!
I stay at Vdara. I love it. It's apart of the City Center area on the strip. It's an easy walk to the Bellagio or Aria if you want to hit up a casino. I like that it is also a non smoking hotel. The rooms are awesome and have their own kitchen. You can ask house keeping to bring you pots if you want to cook. I've had views that over looked the Bellagio fountains which was awesome.
It's also got a great little convenience shop that has delicious macaroons.
I've been there for about a month over all now.
I've seen the Jabbawockeez, The Beatles Love, Absinthe. I thought all of them were amazing and awesome in their own way. I cried with laughter at Absinthe.
neonpink, I was looking online at the list of shows that are happening right now in Vegas, and I remembered you saying that Absinthe was really funny! I saw a video on youtube that captures some of the show and it does look fun and hilarious.
I also noticed that there's a show called Zombie Burlesque. lol They really do have everything over there, don't they?
Anything and everything and at all hours of the night. The last time I stayed on the strip in September I was fairly sober walking around at 1am. It was hilarious. I had a few drinks but some of these people were so hammered it was amusing to watch.
The Linq Ferris wheel is up. Its 30 bucks to ride and is beautiful at night. They have a bar car but I've not found it to be worth it. The car is so crowded that you can't move and see around the city. If you ride the regular ones at night they aren't nearly as full and you can really see the city. That whole area is really new and cool near the linq. They have lots of cool little shops and restaurants.
We stayed at the Palazzo and loved it. All the rooms are suites.
We were there for a week. Saw Jersey Boys ( a heck of a lot cheaper than NYC!!) and also Terry Fator. I had never heard of him before but every time I say I saw him, the people I am speaking with have! ( he won America's got talent) the show was excellent!
