So I got my new 6 the day it came out and put it in the case right away. On Saturday I dropped it seriously a foot and the glass shattered. We took it to the apple store and $100 later I had an entirely new phone (they didn't have replacement glass yet so they had to give me a new phone, but for the cost of the glass replacement). Awesome, great, no biggie.
Except the home button on this phone sticks and it clicks every time I use it. It's driving me BATTY. Do you think I can take it back? Is there anything they can do? It's been doing this since the moment I got it. Seriously driving me insane.
When you say clicking, what do you mean? I've noticed that mine makes noise when I press it, but I thought that that was just the way it was supposed to be. Is it supposed to be nearly silent like the old home buttons were?
As someone whose home button just developed some serious stickiness, I strongly urge you to take it back. There is a work-around for it through the accessibility feature, but that feature is no good if you can't even turn the phone on.
This morning my iPod Touch was frozen asleep and plugging it in didn't wake it. I was able to wake it by holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously for ten seconds, but if my home button was stuck completely, rather than just partially, this wouldn't have worked and my Touch most like would have been bricked.
I'm beyond the warranty, unfortunately, but I'm going to take it to the genius bar because I now realize that a stuck home button could actually render my Touch useless. It's barely a year old.

Its supposed to be silent like the old ones. My problem is that it makes the clicking noise like 60% of the time, so I'm sure if I made the effort to take it to the store it wouldn't do it when I got there. You know how that always happens??
It almost feels like it's a little stuck and the clicking is when it unsticks. Ugh its frustrating. I might try to make an appt but my husband is out of town so I'd have to go alone with a toddler which is never fun...
Oh, i just thought that that was the way it was supposed be. Ugh, this is going to be the 3rd time that I have to bring my 6 in. I've brought my toddler the two previous times, so I feel you I might just stalk your posts to see what comes from your appointment, lol.
My 6 home button clicks, very quietly, when I press it. It doesn't feel like it's "stuck" or "sticking", though. I assumed it was normal; I don't remember whether my 4s home button clicked or not.
