I like it, the diet cola is fine. I prefer the diet lemon lime from SodaStream, even though I would normally choose diet cola when out.
I'm not sure which model we have, but ours was about $100 two years ago.
To me, the worst aspect is that you're supposed to wash the bottles in lukewarm water and can't run them through the dishwasher. Every time I want to make a bottle, H has used them and not washed them. Then I have to wash them and chill the water before I can make any. So, now that we have SodaStream I drink a hell of a lot more water because I'm too lazy to wash the bottles to make soda.
We really like our soda stream, but we only use it for plain sparkling water and sometimes juices or teas. I've never used the soda syrups.
Same.
I almost killed my H when he tried to sparkle some watermelon juice recently. DO YOU SEE THAT BIG WARNING RIGHT THERE ON IT, DUMMY?! I hope it's not broken, we haven't used it since then.
lol, did it overflow? I've done that a couple of times. I'm sure it's just fine.
We did that earlier this summer trying to recreate a sparkling peach tea that we had at a restaurant.
I love mine. I drink a lot of plain or lemon lime seltzer. The diet cola is good, but it definitely doesn't taste like diet coke. I like the ginger ale, too.
I LOVE mine. I drink a ton of seltzer (I prefer it to plain water) so I got it in an effort to be more environmentally friendly. And to have seltzer whenever I wanted and not worry about running out.
I have tried the regular cola and was pleasantly surprised. But I haven't bought any of the flavorings.
They now make bottles that are sold separately and are labelled as dishwasher friendly. I bought those, so I wouldn't worry about what would happen if I sent the other bottles through the dishwasher. loosesealste
I love mine, but I only really make sparkling water with it. If we run out of mix or something, it's a good substitute for coke. I would say its worth a try.
I use mine all the time, but the cherry cola flavor tastes a little weird. I like the raspberry lemonade flavor and the raspberry cranberry favors though.
We have one, that is essentially used to make me fizzy water. Or occasionally a gingerbread float with gingerbread syrup that you'd put in coffee. We don't really drink pop, so we haven't tried the syrups. Ours is a Penguin. IDK if you can still get them or not. But the take home message is that it comes with glass bottles that are dishwasher safe, and I think they make other versions that will work with the glass bottles as well.
I did not like any of the dark flavored diets that came in the sample pack we got. I do love the Diet Pink Grapefruit and the Diet Cranberry Raspberry.

I love our soda stream. I have a serious diet coke addiction. I buy actual diet coke syrup and caffeine free diet coke syrup to make mine. I make up 3-4 bottles at a time.
We have the dishwasher safe bottles, but most of the time I just rinse them.

where do you buy the diet coke syrup?
I buy it online from Sam's Club and have it shipped to me. They have a lot of flavors including Diet Dr. Pepper.

We love ours and use it mostly for unflavored seltzer. most of the soda stream brand syrups I've tried are pretty gross. The tonic is okay and the sparkling naturals are okay. I didn't like any of the others. I have a ginger and grenadine syrup from Morris Kitchen that are awesome and the cream soda mix from Williams-Sonoma was really good. If you want coke, you can order coke brand syrup online or through one of the "club" stores (Costco, BJs, Sam's). I think they're huge quantities, but I'd imagine soda syrup would last for quite a while.
We like our soda stream, but if you HAVE to to have a certain brand, it's probably not for you.
The "Cola Zero" is okay, but it's not Coke Zero.
Ditto this.
The colas are okay, but not the same if you are craving a Coke or a Coke Zero. They're more akin to RC Cola or something.
This is what I think too. The Diet Cola tastes a lot like Diet Rite. But get it really fizzy and it still fulfills my need for carbonation.
I love the "fruitier" diet versions, though. Diet Orange is one of my favs. And I also love the lemonade. I drink tons of that in the summer. I love it better than the unfizzy kind.
DH also forgets to rinse the bottles after use so I just started keeping another container of water in the fridge so I can refill immediately after rinsing them. That was easier than trying to get him to remember to wash them.
