I know we have some Baby K'tan lovers here, so hopefully you can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've tried it several times and keep defaulting to the Baby Bjorn because it has clasps and things and feels more secure to me. I am trying to do the newborn kangaroo carry with the K'tan, but M rides low and loose to the point that it feels unsafe. I believe it's the right size...I wear dress size 10-12 and sized down to a medium.
I am reluctant to post this picture because it's so ridiculously wring, but I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! I've read the instruction manual and even watched YouTube videos. This is making me feel really dumb. Help, MMM?
I had to size way down bc dd was tiny. The "correct" size had her sagging and it was very uncomfortable, like she was hanging from me instead of strapped to me.
I could never get the kangaroo hold to work for us but the tummy to tummy hold was great for us.

Hmm, it may be too big, but I used a M too. Is he sitting in the inner "ring" (closer to your body? It looks like he might be in the outer one? If so, you need to switch it up so he's right against you and the outer loop is crossed over him.
Thanks ladies. I will try the hug. chickens987, you're right, the picture does make it look like he is sitting in the outer ring. I thought I did that part right, but I'll make sure the next time I try it.
I found it was important when she was smaller to sit her up almost vertical when I put her in the loop, rather than putting her in at a recline.
Try opening the inner loop more and folding it around his head, like he's the filling in a soft taco. Plus it looks like you need to rotate him slightly outward; his head should be more like lying on your chest rather than facing you if that makes sense.
It took us a while to perfect the technique but I use it every day now and I love it!
I'm no expert but am happy to try to troubleshoot if you bring it Wednesday! Z spent a lot of time in it today!
I was thinking about this. Z looked so cozy when we went shopping! I will bring it to yoga. Is yours a small or XS? There's no way I would wear the same size as you

Mine is a small. Yours does look like a lot more fabric though to only be one size up.

I have to wash and dry mine after basically every use cuz it stretches. I also do not like the kangaroo carry and never use it anymore. The long piece of fabric really helps support the head in the other carry. But tbh, I bought an ergo and use that way more often these days.

Lurker here with a 5wk old. I love my K'tan but had to size down to a small and I sound similar in size as you. I usually wear 10-12 in tops/dresses and was shocked that I needed a small. Since down sizing he feels so much more secure. I also like the hug hold better than the kangaroo hold. Drying it frequently did help with keeping him secure. Good luck!
