I was able to get a fast pass for BOG this morning! (I am staying off site but I paid for one night in the campground during our trip so I have a resort reservation number.)
I have been stalking and reserving character meals over the last couple of weeks, so this morning when I told DH that I got a fast pass for this restaurant, he asked, "Who do we get to see?" I answered, "Uh, no one!" LOL
I also finally found an opening at Cinderella Royal Table...for 9:15 pm. Whomp whomp. There is no way my children would make it through that. I feel like I'm pushing it just to keep them up to see Wishes.
I don't know what to suggest about CRT. We did a lunch res, but you already have one. How about breakfast?
My question if the day- all of the monorail resorts are like $500/nt+. Is there like a tip to getting rooms there for less? Or do people really pay that much?
We usually stay in value resorts BC we are gone all day, but next year we will have a new baby and I thought it might be worth it. I'd go maybe $300/nt but geez that's a lot! Any suggestions on a compromise?
Eta: or is $300/nt better spent on getting a suite at AoA?

We're leaving in three weeks and it's during a free dining promotion period (although we're not getting free dining) -- in other words, there is nothing available. I'm not heartbroken over missing out on it and it's awfully expensive, but if I happened to see an open reservation at a reasonable time, I'd be willing to consider going.

I'll be honest, I've done both and I think BOG is way better, food and atmosphere wise.

Disney often offers room-only discounts. Deluxe resorts will be 30-40% off, depending on the season. Sometimes these offers coincide with free dining. At the deluxe resort level, the room discount is usually almost always better than free dining. Free dining tends to be a better value at the moderate and value levels.
As for whether or not the money is better spent at AoA, that's personal. For me, I would never spend that much money to stay at a value resort, suite or not. I have a tough time justifying deluxe prices for a value resort. The location and amenities the deluxe resorts offer are more important to me than a second room. But if the space and theme AoA offers are more important to you than location, it could be worth it to you.
What about akushus (in epcot) or 1900 park faire (for dinner) for a princess meal?
Nothing there either. Trust me, I've been checking for every character meal multiple times a day.
I think at this point I'm going to be happy with what we have and stop stalking dining reservations. We will see plenty of princesses at meet & greets. DD's favorite is Mulan...I hope she's in China when we're in Epcot!
I just learned what KOKO stood for not that long ago.
Now I have to learn more acronyms!
Actually looking forward to learning them. Putting together trips and itineraries was one of the fun parts of my pre-baby life. Sounds like a trip to Disney would let me have that again.
I have a question about CRT. I saw that they are closing for refurbishment from Jan- "Spring 2015". Anyone know specifically when they are supposed to reopen? We're going mid May and I'd love to take DD.

Planning disney trips is almost more fun than the actual trip!
truth. by the time we get there, i won't even care how it goes. i can already tell you the menu for most of the character meals available.
speaking of - askwgqerbwerbwe, chef mickey, ohana and hollywood and vine with fastasmic show - BOOKED.

I read on disboards that it's in the beginning of March.
Has anyone done the private boat tour for the fireworks. Trying to decide if I should try to convince DH to go for it... It's a little pricey but we could have it depart right from our resort and watch the epcot fireworks from the lake which would be pretty damn cool.

If you don't want to do a haircut while you are there, you can go to the barber shop and get hairspray and lots of pixie dust (huge confetti) for free. DD1 LOVED her pixie dust and all the characters she met asked her about her hair.
