I haven't read the article linked yet but what I don't understand about RZ is why she didn't just own that she had her eyelids fixed. If she would have said that, no one would even care. I mean they might comment that she looks different but if you have eyes like hers, it's a legit medical issue eventually. Maybe she had hers fixed sooner than necessary, but my grandma had the same issue and her insurance covered it because eventually it would make her unable to see and it was already hindering her sight.
She probably had other shit done, but that's the most noticeable and obvious. Plus it's a legit medical issue. So why not admit to that? Seems dumb to me.
I thought she sort of did?
"I wasn't happy with how I looked so I fixed it, so STFU about it already." (paraphrase)
I thought her quote referenced eating well and a healthy, happy lifestyle or some such bullshit. Which, no. Maybe she rubbed some essential oils on her eyelids.
OK, ttt I'm not feeling as salty as I was this morning. I needed some caffeine to get my attitude adjusted.
Well I know you didn't have a pumpkin spice latte because as I understand it, people of color are not capable of enjoying cinnamon and nutmeg flavored things and this is exclusive domain of white females between the ages of 18 and 40.

Maybe she stopped vaccinating? That's apparently the cure to all ills.

Wait, if I drink one, would I be passin'? Pressing questions that need answers. Hmmm.

Wait, who was defending RZ? I must have missed that b/c I was watch TV Monday night and most everyone was shocked and questioning on the celeb chat shows and my FB and twitter said nothing about it. Nobody was defending her, but instead just like, "I wonder why she'd do that?" Actually the major feminist blog I read was talking about how interracial marriages were legal before popular opinion accepted them and how it's the opposite for gay marriage. Today is has a pretty great response to that white couple who was pissed about getting black sperm.
While I think it's important again to point out that a lot of women of color aren't identifying with feminism as the author of the OP said, I would venture to say that RZ changing her face or plastic surgery by anyone has pretty much nothing to do with feminism in the majority of people's minds.
As for RZ, are you sure she got rid of the squint? It just seems like too much botox/puffy lips to me - so maybe the anti-squint botox is temporary?

I think the "white woman privilege" issue is more interesting when it comes to vaccination rates, not which celebrity gets the most defense when they butcher their face.
Because if we lived in an era where it was mostly black and minority woman who were refusing to vaccinate their kids instead of upper middle class white woman, would white American society have a collective yawn or would they be out fire and brimstoning and decrying "black culture." I think the latter. Not vaccinating is the most egregious white female privilege issue I can think of and it actually has horrific societal consequences to everyone.
I will read more, but why is this a bullying thing? Isn't it really just sexist? I know we do have the Kenny Rogers', but the dismantling of a person is often done to women only when it comes to looks. I am confused why this is a race thing (off to awesome luvvie).
Okay, I am not sure I agree with AL and I like a lot of her writing. To slam her, work or not, is not really something people do to men. People talk(ed) about Rihanna? Did she have work done. Iam confused and will go back to GOML'ing and signing up for a People.
Essential oils, though, made me LOL. It is right up there with yam dicks.
