I have a decent stash of fabric as well, so I completely understand the enabling. Mom and I had to stop shopping for fabric together since we always ended up with more than needed in our carts.
I have two snoring dogs on my bed, and would love to call off work and snuggle with them.

This probably belongs in a confessions thread, but I'd bet I still have at least 200 more yards.Â
We went to DD's 3rd grade class dinner last night. DD's school is co-Ed for k-2 and is separated into boy's classrooms and girl's classrooms starting in 3rd. The school goes all the way through high school (in a different building on campus). It's becoming clear just how special DD's class is and how lucky she is to be among this group of girls. in DD's class, there are zero cliques, zero mean girls. The ENTIRE class chooses to play together every day at recess. These are the sweetest girls I have ever met. They are also funny, smart (highest composite test scores in the school's history) and every single one of them has multiple talents. There are wonderful artists, performers and athletes in the group. They all share their talents and use them to encourage and help each other. I open it stays this way through high school. This is like watching a social experiment that maximizes the potential of female students. I LOVE these girls. I wish they were all mine.
My car has been in the shop for over a week bc dh ran over something on the road and jacked up a whole bunch of parts. I just got it back at closing last night and it's pulling hard to the right. Ugh. I'm camping out at the shop with a toddler until they fix it. :/
Squirrely's talk about her stash makes me want to get a sewing machine. I haven't sewn in ages, but I am thinking about making curtains, since I can't find any I like.
DH is coming home tonight instead of tomorrow afternoon. I'm vaguely annoyed that I'll be doing the bath/bedtime routine by myself, but don't get the evening completely to myself, which is kind of the reward for doing bedtime alone. At least I can leave dinner dishes for him to deal with.
I have got to do laundry today, DS had to wear pants that are a little big on him today, and they sag at his butt and make him walk funny, lol.
I'm so sad for Canada. I keep hearing reports on the radio, and just the idea of an active shooter and lockdowns makes my stomach hurt still.
Please let the rain stop. I'm tired of bad hair, bad driving and bad moods. Also, business sucks during this weather and my accounts are nasty fucks.
On my new diet one day is mainly made up of protein shakes. Today is that day. Yay (said with extreme sarcasm.)
DH took an extra night off from work, so I'm planning on convincing him to go grocery shopping. It will cost a fortune because he'll choose everything but at least he'll stop eating my snacks!
We woke up to water in the living room. Leaking roof. Greeeaaat.
I was talking to my mom this morning and she is home sewing today. She went to the fabric store yesterday and is all stocked up on patterns fabric and notions. I'm so jealous!!! A rainy sewing day at home? Yes please!!
I need caffeine stat. H decided to sleep on the couch last night so he "could get some rest" DS was up at 1, wouldn't go back to sleep so I brought him in with me and finally got him to start settling down around 3. Then DD wakes up, I go get her back in bed, she got up again 30 minutes later. Finally they are both sleeping around 4. My alarm went off at 5:30.
I'm so pissed at H. I know he is tired too and it's not like he knew they'd get up but fuck dude... I've been sick for two friggin weeks, double ear infection, sinus infection, sore throat and a nasty cough. I need sleep!
I bought the person behind me's coffee at the tim hortons drive thru this morning. I wanted to do something nice after yesterday, and I couldn't think of anything more Canadian than that.
I made the mistake of letting H pick out his outfit first for our family photos on Saturday. He picked a really great shirt that is impossible to coordinate with. I bought a bunch of stuff for me and Hart at Target yesterday, laid it out and realized it doesn't work.
But I like it, so I'm keeping it, lol.
I'm headed to Old Navy on my lunch break.
Family photos are getting more and more expensive. At least I have an excuse to add to my fall wardrobe.
This is truly random. My BFF and I became BFFs in 5th grade when I offered her our extra ticket to Motley Crue. We loved those hair bands and a while ago I remembered the Moscow Music Peace Festival and how totally awesome it was back in the day. I've been looking for a DVD copy of it for a while and I think I finally found one that looks legit and isn't $100. I think I'll get one for her for bday and one for me. Her bday is a week before mine and we are seeing Motley Crue on their final tour on the Saturday in between our bdays, lol. I know we are nerds!
I started a new crochet project last night. I haven't crocheted in forever but I have a bunch of yarn just laying around, so I started a baby blanket in a stitch I've never done before. I had to start it over 4 times before I got it right, but now its a breeze and I'm excited to see how it comes together.
My BFF is throwing me a birthday party on Saturday night. My parents are coming. I don't know how to feel about it.
After last night's Beatle discussion, I think I'm going to listen to them all day today. I haven't done that in a while and it'll make me happy.
I've decided that G and I are getting out of the house today! Home Goods and Costco with a stop at Starbucks. Yay!
I told H a while ago that if I ever had an obscene amount of money to blow, I'd love to get a monogram mind sewing machine. He told me the other night that he was looking them up, and was gonna buy one for me. Until he realized that I was serious when I said "obscene ". A sweet thought though!
I turned my coffee pot on this morning before I had water or the carafe in it. Apparently I really needed my coffee.
Dd has a half day at school next Wednesday so they get out at 12:15. She (dd) informed me today that xmil is picking her up before lunch that day. Lunch is at 11:25. So xmil is planning on taking my kid out of school early, but hasn't asked me if it's ok. I know it's just lunch and recess that she will miss, but I'm irritated that she hasn't asked me if it's ok. I'm trying really hard not to be irritated that she hasn't asked me if it's ok since it's still nearly a week away. FTR, I don't care that she is taking her out early, I care that she hasn't asked me if it's ok.
I'm proud of myself that I've gotten some type of exercise every day this week.
I actually went to the gym a couple times - which I never do - and I played soccer, and last night I went Salsa dancing.
I'm also happy that my dancing is getting better. I've gone to lessons and open dance a couple of times because a friend of mine is really into Latin dance. The first time I danced with him it was a shit show (on my part), and last night he said "You've been practicing!" Yay! Improvement!

DH is on my dad's computer cleaning it of malware. He was trying to VPN into work and shit wasn't working, so he started digging. He's pretty sure my dad's whole identity will be stolen now with how much crap is on that computer. The Olds, man.

What stitch? PIP!
Well I guess it wouldn't be a new stitch since its pretty much just a bunch of sets of 3 double crochets... but its a new pattern for me; The granny ripple.
Not my pic obvs, but its this. Mine does not look this good.

I've been wanting to try that one! I love granny squares, and I love a good zig zag/ripple. That might be my next attempt...
