One of my coworkers just told me that his wife is a sahm because daycare doesn't teach kids anything. I mean, lol forever. I'm not even mad, because it was such an asinine and untrue statement.
I feel like all of my SAHM friends who say this are the same ones who spend all day on facebook playing games and regularly brag that their 4 year old watched Frozen 5 times in a row yesterday. You can't teach your kid something if you never actually interact with them during the day.
My brother was expecting a baby at the same time I was and he told the family before we did. My mom told me that they didn't need another kid so soon, but at least the kids weren't in daycare. I told her I was pregnant the next day and that we had gotten a spot in one of the best daycare centers in the area. Haven't heard a negative thing on daycare since.
- I called my GP's office to ask if there's a room there where I can pump when I go in for my physical on Monday. There is! Now I can set up other appointments and things to do in the same part of town without having to lock myself in a random bathroom stall to pump. yAY!
- I RSVPd for Dd to go to a classmate's b-day party. However, the mom was so enthusiastic that we're coming that I felt bad asking if its a drop-off party or not. It's soon after DD's gymnastics class and I can't be away from a pump or DS for that long if I stay until the end of the party. I guess I'll have DH take her just in case?
My random is that DH went back to work way to soon. This is my 3rd day alone with the baby and I can barely sit down because of pain from the stitches and I feel like crying. She is extremely fussy and the only thing that seems to calm her is walking with her. We are counting hours until Papa comes home and I can go sit in the shower.
Wait, I'm supposed to be teaching them something? Right now it's independent play and how to unload the dishwasher with 2 helpers underfoot without screaming.
I will brag on the baby. I just quoted the page of one of her books to her and she ran off, spent 5 mins digging through the bookshelf and then finally produced the correct book and brought it for me to read. She's such a little cutie.
I consider myself really good at navigating new cities but eff me, Austin is confusing. Lots of weird frontage roads and roads suddenly turning into multiple roads. Do not like.

DS moves to preschool next month. We just got the first bill for new tuition. For the first time EVER daycare is less than my paycheck. ::throws confetti:

I'm sorry, that sounds awful. Recovery can be so rough. If you can handle listening to the baby fuss for a few minutes, a quick shower or sitz bath always made me feel worlds better the first few days.

Miles busted out of his swaddle 3 times last night, so I guess it's time to try something else. I have Merlin's Magic Baby suit, but I have my doubts that it's "magic."
DH has been taken off of "Teaching Animal Sounds" duty.
This is after repeated 'lessons' that the rabbit says "ribbit" and that the turtle makes clicking noises.
Seriously - wtf DH.
What does a rabbit say?? Oh and let's add giraffe and hippo in there.
According to M a hippo says.... picture a toddler with mouth wide open but no sound. Like a hippo opening his mouth. That is what a hippos says. For the record he learned that on one of his leap frog computer thingys.

I had something to post and then I got distracted. Now I can't remember. I know its not coming back. My mommy brain has gotten significantly worse with the birth of C.

Are you a new poster or an old poster with a new name?
I'm terrible. I bought 24 nice Halloween toys in addition to glow sticks and (will add) some sort of candy. Now should I pass out the nicer toys to the first 24 or pick and choose pre-candy eaters? Can you tell this is my first Halloween in a house?
I tried to update my freak out post about my last beta # and my fear of twins, but I don't think it worked. Anyways, just confirmed it's only one in there!!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!

Lucky! I have to wait a whole week. I keep referring to "the twins" with DH.

It is magical! Well I mean he still woke up in the MOTN but not from startling. How old? Did you try the Miracle Blanket?
I made an appointment for a massage for this afternoon. I'm sleeping like crap and my back hurts so maybe it will help me relax and sleep better tonight. I was planning on trying to get one this weekend and I still might if it works out.
I met a family last night that totally reminded me of the @notquiteblushing family. I went to Phish in Santa Barbara and this really nice couple with a 5 year old and a 3 year old were sitting in front of me. They were handing out postcards for Jam Cruise and said the husband has been on every single boat that's sailed, and the kids have been every year since they were conceived. All four of them danced down when the show started and they looked like they had so much fun together, and I couldn't help thinking that's going to be you guys in a few years.
I still refuse to bring my kids to concerts though. lol.
