are you worried about it building up in your system and causing issues with your calcium levels and other things? Do you get regular bloodwork?
I started taking the Natural Calm powder a couple weeks ago. I am only taking 1 tsp now. When I was talking to the NP at work, he said that I should get my bloodwork checked in a few months when I go to the dr for my regular appt. Excess magnesium isn't eliminated through your urine like vitamin B and others.
I found this and it somewhat contradicts what I said above.
Side effects from increased magnesium intake are not common because the body removes excess amounts. Magnesium excess almost always occurs only when magnesium is supplemented as a medication.
I was taking it for migraine prevention for several months before I got pregnant. I told my midwife at my first appointment and she just said, "Oh, good. I hope it's helping!" and my bloodwork all came back normal.
I have been taking magnesium as a powdered supplement for over 10 years now. It has never been an issue and I have my bloodwork checked annually. My doctors (both GP and OB) have never mentioned any concern and they know that I take the supplement daily.
I also take about 1/2 of the daily recommended dose. That may play a part?

As long as your kidneys are fine, your body will excrete any excess easily, as long as you're not taking mega doses.
Thanks! At my rheumatologist and gastrologist appts last week, I added it to my meds list and they didn't care at all. I found some more info online that says the same thing you did.

It didn't affect the way I felt one way or another. I hope it helps you with your milk production! The only thing that truly helped my milk production is eating lactation cookies.
