$60 a quarter here. Recycling is extra- which annoys me because I'm pretty sure they make money off the recycling portion. I think its cheaper if you live in the city limits around here.
We pay $54 every three months. It covers once a week trash pick up and every other week recycling pick up. The recycling pick up is a fairly recent offering, and I'm so glad. Saving up recycling and then taking it to the dump was a pain in the neck.
Yep, ours is ~$30/month for trash and ~$8/month for yard waste/compost. Recycling is free. I like it because they charge by container size which incentives less waste overall.
We pay, but the county lumps it into our sewer bill.
I'm like you though, at my parents where I grew up it was just part of the taxes. It seems weird to me to pay the county for a service they just fold into the taxes, but DH claims there are too many "rural" areas that wouldn't benefit.
Our's used to be included in taxes, now it is split separately. They keep changing companies, the city doesn't do it themselves. The last company billed us directly quarterly. The new company, the city is billing us quarterly or something.
Yes. We pay $85 a quarter for trash and recycling.
Recycling is $25 of that, which irritates me to no end. Recycling should be mandatory. Oh well.
A few years ago they were going to make you pay to recycle. People flipped b/c they found out how much money the county makes from recycling. That plan was quickly squashed.
Our town has their own trash pick up program available to anyone in the city limits. They'll pick up anything.
When we lived in a rural area we had no trash pick-up and we had to haul everything to a trash/recycling drop-off center. It sucked. In the other rural areas where I've lived there was an independent garbage company that would pick up so many bags for a fee.
At our house, it's part of the taxes. We pay $63 every 3 months for our lake house trash pickup. I wish I could opt out, because we're only there on weekends and pickup doesn't go with when we're there, so we have to cart the trash home anyway.
Yes. $40 billed quarterly for the smallest sized trash can. That also comes with unlimited recycling and yard waste included. There is no additional charge for recycle and compost- the Seattle way of encouraging being green for those that would skip to save money.
Yes; it's something like $68 quarterly. That is for 2x a week pick up and some giant 96 gallon container.
The recycling is every other week through the town, so that is "free". The town also handles the leaf collection in the fall and a spring brush cleanup.
