She's no different from these assholes marking their territory inside Henry Cowell Park. It's a beautiful day, the air is so fresh, the trees are so tall and beautiful, let's go tag our name over there. Broad daylight in front of families, I had fun explaining how it was wrong for people to do that to my 4 year old.
I wasn't as emotionally invested in this, but I keep thinking about it and this chick is seriously pissing me the fuck off. She is no artist. She needs to be humbled, a lot. Like smacked across the face, humbled. She is such a disrespectful piece of shit and is using the name of art to try and justify her disrespectful, repugnant actions. Fuck her and her followers.
My DH works for NPS and I had a visceral reaction to this story. I sent it to him and demanded to know what he's doing about it! Lol. Defacing a park is a felony, so fuck her.
She compares herself to Banksy, I would compare her to a dog pissing on a tree. Agree to disagree, I guess.
Piss washes away. And dogs don't piss on trees to purposely and permanently deface them.
Okay, yes. I was just making a point about her feeling a need to mark her territory, which is weird but which she claims she is doing in the name of "art."

We are on the same side here
Yeah, I figured as much. I was just taking that extra step so as to not insult dogs. Dogs have enough brains to not leave permanent damage. (kiss)
That's awful. I have a visceral reaction to graffiti. Hate!
There are respectable graffiti artists who don't do throw-ups or pieces on the sides of business (unless prior approval). There are tasteful works of street art.
I'm a huge fan of street art. It's a way to beautify spaces previously considered ugly or unsightly. I do not like someone permanently defacing* landscapes and national parks. If it were in chalk or water soluble paint that'd be one thing. Using permanent paint in these locations is beyond the pale.
*I used defacing in this instance because I don't consider what she's doing to be art
