Oh honey. Banksy you are not. At least have th decency to make your shitty drawings in chalk. And respect others' Arturo's as you would want yours respected.
That's awful. I have a visceral reaction to graffiti. Hate!
There are respectable graffiti artists who don't do throw-ups or pieces on the sides of business (unless prior approval). There are tasteful works of street art.

Well, sure, but this is not that.
I know. I was speaking in general to her statement about graffiti, also in general. I already spoke to how I feel about this jackass.

I'm talking about unauthorized graffiti where a person defaces property without prior permission.

Okay. I agree with you to an extent. I just know graffiti often gets a bad rep because you see dumbass shit like, a poorly drawn tag name on the dugout on a little league field. Stupid shit like that is NOT graffiti. The graffiti culture is a lot bigger than people realize, with a LOT of very talented artists.

As long as they keep their work on their own personal property or get permission I'm not complaining. When they continually waste city resources for clean up it crosses the line. Also, our family owns a building that gets graffitied constantly because the backside faces a busy street and it's expensive and time consuming to clean up. And it's not their property to deface. I don't care if they are amazing artists (which is subjective anyway) they do not have a right to damage other peoples property.
I wasn't as emotionally invested in this, but I keep thinking about it and this chick is seriously pissing me the fuck off. She is no artist. She needs to be humbled, a lot. Like smacked across the face, humbled. She is such a disrespectful piece of shit and is using the name of art to try and justify her disrespectful, repugnant actions. Fuck her and her followers.

Tis very true, "good" art is subjective. I originally said, in more words, designated spots so I agree with you. Completely. I've known a lot of graffiti artists and their work is great but they have little places to display it save their sketchpads. I wouldn't mind it being more accepted, for TALENTED ARTISTS. I seriously can't stress this enough because I HATE those little fuckers who go around being disrespectful and leaving their ugly marks everywhere.
The defense of and debate about graffiti is misplaced in this thread.
Mostly because what she did would be categorized as fucking abhorrent. People will still categorize it as graffiti which just grinds my gears because of the misconception. It's not my hill to die on, though, so ::wooosaaaahhh:::
