I would probably tell them to help themselves to whatever we had. Our outside freezer has a couple frozen pizzas and some TJ's heat and eat type stuff.
Hmm ok. I had leftovers planned for DS to eat tonight. We usually grocery shop on saturday mornings, so the fridge is kind of sparse by friday night. There's some ramen in the pantry, lol. and cans of tuna. Maybe I will text and ask if I can pick up something for her.
I do, because if not's family members, it's my students. I always feel like I should feed them! Sometimes they'll tell me ahead of time that they are bringing their own.

I've never had anyone outside of family watch J but yes I always have food on hand and make sure to mention they can eat it. I would do the same for a paid sitter.
I babysat a ton when I was younger and almost all families provided food for me. Usually if I went as early as 5, I would eat with the kids (pizza, nuggets, whatever they were eating). Most families also provided snacks for after the kids went to bed.
if we don't have food in the house- like on Friday nights I tell her can pick up some takeout on her way to our house and I'll add it to what we owe her. We can't get delivery at our house in the sticks.
I try to have a few things on hand - fruit, snacks and sandwich stuff. I'll show them where everything is and tell them to help themselves.
Most seem to have eaten already or bring their own snack. Except one sitter who truly REALLY helps herself. It's fine, but it's SO much more than what others do, it always makes us LOL.
