Random NPCE question: project plan template?

I need a basic, simple project plan template and this has proved way more difficult to find than I thought. I don't need a whole Gantt chart or anything, just a basic Anna does x on this date, Bertha does y by this date, Carl does z at this date, etc. 

Anyone know where I can find something like this?  It can be Word, Excel, whatever (but not Microsoft Project because I don't have that).

Maybe I should just use a Gantt chart. Although honestly, I don't really think this needs a project plan in the first place, but work has asked me for one so I want to give them something.

In the absence of Project, I would use Excel for the reasons @littlemoxie indicated.

Lurker here. I have a project plan template in Word that I used for my PM class this past summer. I'll happily send it to you. It's tied to my WBS, which I can also send you the template for. You can delete any of the unnecessary columns.

I have an excel one if you want. it's pretty basic: Task, start date, end date, person responsible, etc.
