It's good - but honestly the ganache is just hair too much. I'd make about 1/2 - 1/4 the amount they recommend. The cake is good (not too sweet surprisingly - though that might have been the dark chocolate cocoa powder) and so is the peanut butter butter cream.
It's almost *too* much - not the kind of cake you can eat quickly - definitely a small piece cake
1 cup flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 stick butter (6 tbsps) 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup apples, peeled and chopped (or more!) 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon). In a separate bowl, melt butter – beat in sugars til smooth. Mix in egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients to mixture, then stir in apples and walnuts.
Spread in a greased 8x8 inch pan and sprinkle top with cinnamon sugar (that’s cinnamon and white sugar mixed together). Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes until golden brown.
you can double or even triple the recipe and bake in a 13x9 pan, just up the baking time about 10-15 minutes. Also, you can substitute blueberries for the apples.

I tried audette 's brownie recipe the other day for the bake sale and they're really, really good! (yes, I ate some of my bake sale donation... don't judge me)

no judgment it's called quality control. You couldn't give something to a bake sale that wasn't good!

Thanks! I swear, they blow any box-brownie out of the running when you compare 'em.
I plan on baking up a bunch of stuff this week. DH has some guys at the range today, so I'm about to start baking some cheddar herb and cinnamon raisin biscuits for him to take to them (keep in mind, it's morning here). And later this week there is a thing happening on base where we need to bake up a bunch of stuff for about 100-120 folks. I'll probably be doing most of that baking... Whee!
Oh, and I have my knitting group coming over tomorrow. I'll probably make something for that.
Fall has arrived. I have the urge to bake all the things.
