I have this raised flesh-colored bump on the side of my nose. It's like a tiny little zit, but I can't pop it. It's been there for several weeks, and hasn't changed at all during that time. The fact that it is there is bugging me, but it doesn't hurt, itch, etc. I just went to the doctor a couple months ago and had a physical and this thing pops up a few weeks later. How do I know if I need to get it checked out? Do I just call my PCP? I don't have a local dermatologist.

I'd go to the dermatogist too. I've been getting those for the past few years in the same couple spots, and have had them biopsied twice. I was all "OMG, skin cancer", but fortunately the report always comes back showing they're enlarged oil glands. The derm freezes them off.
Unfortunately, I had something similar on my nose a few years ago. It was a wart. It was easily removed (in fact just taking it off for the biopsy took care of it ), but I wish I had gone in sooner to have it looked at.

I spent a little while looking up dermatologists yesterday. It looks a little different this morning - flatter and scabbier (I know you all wanted this information). I'm gonna keep an eye on it for a few more days before I call.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I had a couple on my chin. Smooth, fleshy, would not pop. I would pick them off myself (with sharp tweezers) because I'm a picker, ew, and when they kept coming back I freaked out and was convinced I had skin cancer. I go to the derm, and she is all up on my face staring at these things, and says: "Ok don't freak out." *cue freaking out* "These are warts."
Mine also began at pimple sites, so I guess a break in the skin made me susceptible? She prescribed me a tube of veregen, used to treat genital warts but also gentle enough for your face. Yay. I had to reapply constantly but it worked! Warning: that stuff turns everything orange. Everything.
Definitely see a derm. It's probably nothing, but it doesn't hurt to get it checked. I have had something similar (on my shoulder) and it did end up being a basal cell carcinoma. I am definitely glad that I got it looked at and removal took about two seconds and was pretty painless.
I have an appointment with a derm in a couple weeks. Watch this thing go away before then.
My appointment was for Monday morning, but the bump on my nose is gone so I canceled it. I don't know what it was, but I'm guessing it wasn't anything terrible since it went away on its own. I canceled my appointment.
Out of curiosity, was it white? Like a white-head zit but you can't pop it?
I have those, they're called Milia. Totally benign, mostly annoying. They're just deposits of cholesterol under the skin, they either dissolve on their own or break out of the skin. NBD.

It was just a flesh colored bump for weeks - like a mole or a zit without a head. Then after about a month or so, it formed a white head, dried up and fell off.
