DS1's field trip to the pumpkin patch is tomorrow and I probably won't go given my current state of falling apart. It's ok for me to not go on one field trip, right?
Oh good. I know it sounds silly, but I have always been "that" mom going on all the field trips and it feels...wrong when I can't go. I know I have issues.
Does every parent really go on every field trip? We have two or three parents a piece, most parents go on one a year.
It's funny you say that because I have noticed it's almost always the same small group of parents on every field trip. For DS2's fair field trip only one other parent and one kids grandmother came. I'm still used to (SN) preschool field trips where the kids were required to have an adult there.
DS1 is going on his first field trip in a month and they are only allowed to take 2 adults per class. I signed up as a chaperon but they put the names in a hat so who knows if I'll even get to go.
I am "that mom" too, but I would totally not feel bad if I couldn't go because I was sick (or whatever else you have going on). Rest up and he'll tell you all about it when he gets home.
I've never been, although DH chaperoned one of DD's K field trips. Our school only allows 2-3 parent chaperones and siblings aren't allowed. Finding a daytime babysitter for my twins is difficult.
