I've been working out consistently for 1.5 years (weights and cardio) and maintained. This is because of my eating. I recently actually started paying attention to what I've been shoving down my throat and have lost close to 10lbs (3 weeks in). Point of the story is make sure you are changing your eating habits if it's an issue because working out isn't the only component to losing weight.

I would suggest taking measurements and ditching your scale. That number doesn't mean anything. You will likely see better results and get less frustrated.
And ditto the comments about it being a major change and making sure you are eating enough. That's a pretty intense schedule. If you don't eat enough you won't be able to get good workouts in and may actually gain in size from your body freaking out that you aren't getting enough. Quality makes a huge difference. You will get further with 1800 calories of good foods as opposed to 1200 calories of crap. 70%+ of your weight is determined by your diet.
When I started working out consistently I did something every other day and added a day gradually. Like itsme , the scale didn't move until I started watching my diet.
It sounds good, but it also sounds like a big jump in activity. Make sure you don't try to do too much too soon or you'll get burnt out and/or injured
This totally. Unless you had been going to the gym regularly and just took a short break, then going back 6x isn't a concern for me. But if you've taken a long hiatus of working out, I'd start slowly to prevent injury. Good luck!
I'm only committed to going so often because I have 2 small kids and child care at the gym . I need the daily break for my sanity. I want to make my time count so I'm trying to figure out what I should be doing.
Thanks for the help! I need to work on my eating big time. I have a thing with sugar. I'm taking baby steps on the food front. I've tried cutting junk cold turkey and that hasn't gone well at all.
It is a huge jump to change everything at once. It's hard. It took me a year and a half of working out to finally be in the right mindset of eating better and less. I had to take baby steps. You don't have to completely cut out junk (yet) just cut down on it.
Start slowly. Workings out 6x/wk may burn you out. If you do go that often definitely do classes or work with a personal trainer otherwise you will be wandering around the gym wondering what to do next. Go in with a plan.

If you want the time at the gym as a break just walk or do some stretching a couple times a week. Starting out slow is the best long term success plan.
