I'm cool with paying too much, and ruining the environment for almond milk. I can't drink normal milk, and I hate the taste of soy. I do love rice and coconut milk, but for cooking some dishes they're too strongly flavored.

Ian uses whiskey stones sometimes. I don't like whiskey, though. I understand that you want a too-watered down drink and that if you have nasty tasting tap water, ice made with it might make your drink taste bad. One-dollar a cube specialty ice is a whole other story, though.

Our tap water is why we always keep a bag of ice from a convenience store. That ice is made from filtered water so it's usually pretty clear and free of bubbles. That's right, I get my artisanal ice in a 10 lb bag from the gas station.
