I ask because a FB friend of mine just posted a pic. All of the teachers in her school are dressed as minions with the principal dressed as Gru. Some of them look less than excited.
Haha, that was me. I ended up dressing in purple and got a purple feather headband and goggles and was an "evil minion". Of course, my costume was lame since I spent $3 at a party store on it. The rest of my team bought full on costumes for $40 each!
It was fine, I felt a bit left out but I guess that's my fault for not wanting to spend the money. I was pretty bummed when they took a team photo and didn't ask me to be in it.
The company goes nuts for Halloween though! Other teams had much more fun themes: there was an 80s prom, lego movie, Disney characters, superheroes. All of those themes I would have participated in since they have lots more options where you can have fun and make your own costume. My team just sucks I guess in their "buy this exact costume" mentality.
Must be the year of the office minion - my whole department dressed as minions, sort of homemade, with crafty glasses, yellow stocking caps and sweatshirts/t-shirts and overalls (seriously, though, who just has overalls?).
I'm working from home, so I have a pass from participating.
