We had two Elsas. DS kept count; he was going to play the drinking game.
We had more T0Ters this year than in any of the last 5. In the old days 130 was usual, but it was down to 75 when we moved in and about 30 last year. Our neighborhood is in that awkward stage where many of the residents are empty nesters but haven't sold to younger families yet. Plus our home is in a longer cul de sac and many skip it.
We had more large groups of littles than the high school aged kids we've had the last 6 years. Back when I volunteered with the marching band a lot of the kids stopped by to visit.
We had a few Elsas and no Annas and from what I saw when I was walking around with my neighbor taking her kids out, we had more older kids than grade school and younger. A fair number of ninjas, witches and zombies. We had around 50 or 60 trick or treaters....a lot less than we were used to in CA.
DH and the neighbors played their own drinking game. They all met out at the street to give out candy, set up chairs and brought their favorite beverages to share. DH brought out a nice bottle of wine (and extra glasses), and the guy across the street had a cooler of beer. They shared with other neighbors who came down to see our decorations (The neighbors across the street and our decorations were visible from the other end of the long, very dark street) and stayed to visit. I think the adult neighbors will be coming back next Halloween for the refreshments.
