h I hope so much that dd is described as kind hearted one day
It really is about the best thing someone can say about your kid, I think. DS2 is and always has been such a kind child. If a group of kids are playing with balloons and one kid's breaks, Alex will immediately offer them his. He is the one asking me if something is wrong and what he can do if I look the least bit upset. We have to actively teach him that it is okay to be selfish sometimes because his natural inclination is to give anyone who needs or wants it the shirt off his back. He is definitely a nicer person than the rest of our family--I don't know where he gets it .
I don't think I have anything too bragworthy - but it seems like a good place to note that J is walking w/a push toy MOTY here didn't realize he could do that until my in laws finally showed me this week. Apparently, he's been doing it for a while. I just figured he wasn't that interested in walking. I bought him a push toy at home and he LOVES it.
When B is tired he points to his room so we take him to bed.
DS now recognizes when he is too tired to function. "Go night-NIGHT?!? Mama?!? Go night-NIGHT?!" like in a panic, because he is TIRED. I'm always like "let's DO THIS!!" When we had the timechange, he was ready for bed at 8pm. Hell yes!
H (14 months) has gotten really good at comprehending and answering yes or no questions with a nod or a head shake. He still doesn't have many words (about 5) but he understands so much. For ex. Do you want to take a nap/go outside/take a bath/have a snack. This might be perfectly normal but it impresses me. It also makes me happy how much he loves his daycare. When DH drops him off in the morning he just walks right back to the kitchen to get his breakfast without an ounce of protest.
At DDs 6 month appt, the doctor told me that she is developmentally on par with a 9 month old baby for motor skills. I don't know why I was so proud...I'm sure I would have been equally proud if she weren't moving at all. But regardless, I was super happy to have the doctor confirm my beliefs that she is a bit advanced!
I think V understand bribery now. He kept throwing rutabagas on the floor. So I told him if he ate rutabagas then he could have more apples, and he gave them a try.
And yes, this means we're still trying Fresh 20, because who in their right mind would cook with rutabagas
My 8 month old is standing unsupported for pretty long stretches - she pulls up, lets go, and hangs there for 30+ seconds. I walked pretty early according to my mom (9 months) so maybe her first steps aren't far behind!
I'm also amazed at her adventurous palate. She pretty much eats what we eat, including all sorts of spicy foods and ethnic foods.

We went back to Fresh 20 a couple of weeks ago and I cooked rutabagas this week, too. DS asked for seconds. DH and I did not really like them, lol - they will not be back again. But now DS keeps saying "rutabaga" and laughing hysterically.
I'm pretty sure all of this is normal for her age, but it is amazing to me how much new stuff G is doing. She's starting to push shapes through shape sorter, stack on her stacker, and she "colored" for a few minutes at a restaurant the other night before she tried to eat the crayon. H videoed the coloring (yup, we're *those* people) and when I was watching it back, I realized that she kept moving the crayon around until she got it in the right position to use it. I was pretty impressed
I bet this is a common thing for 2.5yos, but when we come through the door, DS can take off his shoes, socks, and coat; tuck his socks into his shoes; and put everything away in the coat closet. He's getting really good at remembering to do all that on his own without my asking him. He just does it and says "everything put away!"
Probably not all that amazing but when we took DD (15months) to a few houses for trick or treating its like she automatically new what to do and held out her bucket. We only showed her a few mins before we left. And at one house the neighbor told her to take one from the bowl and she reached down and took one. The neighbor then said ok take one more and she did. It was pretty damn cute,

E can do that... but does not yet do it without being reminded. Sometimes repeatedly. And yet the second we're at someone else's house, he has to take off his socks and shoes.

Yup, the first thing DS says when we go to someone else's house is "shoes stay or go?"
DD can do a 6-piece wooden puzzle by herself. She also is able to identify red, blue, and yellow, as well as the letter O (she shouts "O!" whenever she sees one in writing).

DS1 is thriving in preschool. I'm do proud of him. His vocabulary has expanded and he is increasing his interactions with other kids.
I'm even prouder of how well he is accepting DS1. We've had a few moments, but overall it's going well, he loves DS2 and gives kisses, when he cries says baby O hungry, mommy eat. He also brings him over his prized possessions. I'm really proud of him.
DD (22 months) now says "I poop!" Only once has she said it when she's actually pooped though; the other times were just farts. At least she knows when something is coming out of her butt?
