Forgive me, my brain is fried and I can't remember when my older two did this. When did your baby drop down to just a single afternoon nap? My almost 14 month old still likes his morning snooze and I need a light at the end of this tunnel .
Yeah, he's been my most difficult sleeper and he's the third so I can't just chill at home on his schedule.
Right now he's drowsy all morning if we're out and he doesn't get a firm morning nap. He'll get a short snooze/car nap when he can and then when I pick DD up at 1, he'll sleeps for 15 minutes in the car and refuses anymore in the afternoon. Then he's ready for bed around 5:45-6 and UP at the crack of dawn. STINKER.
If we stay at home, he has a solid hour in the morning and then a 2-3 hour one in the afternoon. He'll go to bed at 7:30-8 and then get up at 7. But I have things to do lol. I'd love to drop that morning nap, have a good afternoon one when we get home at 1:30 and then normal bedtime. That's the dream.
DS1 was 18 months (it was pretty sporadic by then though... I just kept trying for 2 naps b/c I was pg with #2 and really wanted to nap myself!). DS2 was 14/15 months. DS3 was 16 months.
My son dropped to 1 nap at daycare from 12-2 at 1 year old. That wasn't by his choice but he adjusted. At home he still gets two, sometimes 3. I don't understand it. But he does ok skipping the morning nap if we're out and about.
14-15 mos, but he doesn't make it as "late" in the day as many kids seem to. I'd say it's a good day if he makes it to 12 at home (daycare nap is around that time). Often it's closer to 11:30.
He will, however, typically sleep 2-3 hours and has to be woken...
DD 18 months and I think she could have held on until 2. She's almost 5 and still naps on weekends sometimes too. DS 9 or 10 months I think. His morning nap wasn't satisfying since he always had to woken up to get out of the house.

You all make me feel better! A has been spotty for the past few weeks at DC for her morning nap. When she does take it, it's never more than 45 minutes TOPS. I thought she may be dropping it too early, but it's nice to hear she's not the only one.
Both my boys were around 14-15 months old when we dropped to one nap. But it was a rough transition both times if I remember correctly.
For a couple weeks we had to be home fairly early and feed them an early lunch around 11am and have them down for a nap around 11:30 or noon. Then slowly push it back to an after lunch/1pm nap.
My younger one is the same age as your son, and she still takes two naps if I let her. We were out this morning, so today it'll only be one. I think my older one was about 15 months when she dropped to one.

Right at 12 months. He would take a 45 minute morning nap then FIGHT the afternoon nap and basically lay in his crib and cry. So he was only napping 45 minutes per day. We let this go on for about 2 weeks thinking it was a phase then decided to move to one nap. He's down most days by noon and sleeps 2.5-3 hours. It's glorious.
At 11 months, but only because daycare pushed it when he transitioned to the toddler room. Average, from what I've read, is between 12-18 months. Apparently by 18 months most kids drop to one on their own.
Right at a year old. He goes down for about 2.5 - 3 hrs every afternoon.
When I'm at work and he's with a friend, he goes down around 2pm, I think, and I usually have to wake him up when I arrive to get him around 4:45pm.
Friday-Sunday, he sleeps from about 1:30pm-4:30pm, give or take.
He goes to bed around 8:15pm, and wakes up between 6:30-7am. (Closer to 6:15/30 since the time change, but I expect him to fall back into his regular schedule.)
I think DD has recently dropped to one nap. She is 15 months (today). I normally put her down around 11 and she wakes sometime between 12 and 1. Today we ran errands in the AM and I put her down around 1:45. I am like you, I think I would prefer her to sleep in the afternoon.
Thanks guys. I remember noting that 15 months is one of my favorite baby ages for both of my older two so I'm thinking that's around the time they had to have dropped the morning nap. Thankfully today he's more on target and just went down for his afternoon one without too much fuss.
DS is 10.5 months and still taking a good nap most mornings. Since DD is in school 3 mornings a week, I hope these morning naps last until the end of the school year (though I know that won't happen).
Around 11.5 months, she started fighting having 2 naps. She'd stay awake in her crib for one of the naps until I released her. Now (she's almost 15 months), I try to give her one nap after lunch, but she often thwarts me by falling asleep in the car when we're out and about in the morning - I HATE this. No matter how early, short or crappy that nap is, 90% of the time she will refuse to nap for the rest of the day. I refuse to just sit home every day, so we go out anyway, and I hope for the best. This past week with daylight savings time, she was wiped because she was waking up so early. We tried to get her to take two naps, and 3 days in a row, she refused, so I think we're firmly in the 1 nap only camp now.

Mine is 13 months and has been refusing his second nap for awhile. He's up around 7/7:30 and goes down for his morning nap around 10:00 and sleeps an hour or so. Sometimes that's the last sleep he gets until bedtime at 7. It's very strange.
