Baby aspirin is typically used as a blood thinner...so it might be used with women who have a history of clotting disorders? I don't have any experience on this, but that's my initial gut reaction.
But apparently you are supposed to ask a doctor first because even though it can increase chance of conception, in some chances it can actually decrease your chance of conception.
MrsMB- Yes, my RE put me on baby aspirin after my 2nd loss. We did all the recurrent pregnancy loss testing, except MTHFR, and came back as unexplained. She put me on baby aspirin immediately and progesterone shots when I got my BFP. My understanding is that it's a blood thinner, also can help with better egg quality, better lining during the 2WW, and helps prevent blood clots that can form when the placenta is developing that can lead to a miscarriage.
I am a huge believer in baby aspirin (I was on progesterone with my second pregnancy so baby aspirin was the only true difference in protocol), although it should be discussed with your doctor before starting. For me, I feel it was the difference maker and will be going back on it as soon as my RE okays it. Also, not sure if baby aspirin had any role to play but it took us 7 cycles with both our first and second pregnancy and about 3-4 with our third (could just be luck or that my body knew what to do at that point, who knows).
Short version: It's commonly prescribed for women with recuurent pregnancy loss and/or with blood clotting issues.
I was on it too throughout my last pregnancy. But that was because we had blood flow issues from the placenta and tried to increase it!
I actually did it for one month while TTC'ing this time around. I had the worst period after that! But I only did it because I knew my body reacted okay to it. I wouldn't do it without doctor's permission.
