Dd2 so far is so much better than dd1 was. When we brought her home from the hospital she slept 3 to 4 hour stretches, aND now she is up to 6 to 8 at night at 5 weeks. Is it possible this isn't a fluke and she will stay like this? Please please please. Dd1 was a horrible sleeper until 3 or so.
Dd2 was the worlds best sleeper as a baby. I used to joke I gave birth to a teenager- by a couple weeks old she we sleeping from midnight until 10/11, one day noon! I would be constantly checking her to make sure she was breathing! Sadly I think she just stocked up on sleep as a baby because now (4.5) she doesn't sleep, like at all Probably started at about 2/ 2.5, so we got a few good years
My 1st was, and still is, not a good sleeper. My 2nd was sooooo much better from day one, and is still amazing in the sleep department. It made such a difference for me to be able to count on decent sleep. Fingers crossed for you!
Ds2 has also been an excellent napper and started sleeping long stretches right away and is sttn since early October (he's 9 weeks now). He's not a comfort nurser like ds1 was so I've got my fingers crossed we'll make it through the 4mw ok this time.
Yep. He ate every 3 hours on the dot as a newborn and ever had days and nights mixed up. By his one month check up he was sleeping over night in 5-6 hour stretches. By 3 months he was doing 8-10 hour stretches.
I was never overtired because I could always just lay him down and go to sleep if I wanted to & he would go to sleep too.
ETA- this makes me very afraid for ale hat could be in stock for #2 now that I am used to an easy sleeper. I would have much preferred a bad sleeper first and then the easy one be a nice surprise!
DS was an amazing sleeper at first. 4 hours stretches as soon as we brought him home, and then STTN (11pm dream feed to 6 am) by 6 weeks old. He continued to STTN until the 4MW hit us like a ton of bricks. He didn't reliably STTN again until we Ferbered at 18 months. So I won't say ANYTHING about baby#2 being a "good sleeper" b/c it can go to shit literally overnight.
I have had 3 excellent sleepers. With each subsequent kid I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. But all of them were STTN before 10 weeks and have continued to do so-now 6, 4 and 14 months.
Yes, my dd slept awesomely from day 1 and was sleeping 9/10 hours before 2 months. Sorry to say this went STRAIGHT to hell during the 4mw. She's been getting up like 5 times a night for a couple weeks now.
DS STTN right at 8 weeks. He was a shitty napper until we put him on the 2-3-4 routine, but he was (and still is) a rockstar when it came to nighttime.
DD was a great sleeper from the start. A "bad" night for her meant 2 wakeups (instead of her usual STTN or 1). She has always been easy to put down for naps/bedtime and is really adaptable when we travel and she needs to sleep in a PNP.

similar for me. DS slept as many hours as he was weeks, 6 hrs at 6 weeks, 11hrs straight by 11 weeks.... but when the 4MW hit us it never left. Things are better now, at least.
DS has been a good sleeper from very early. He started STTN on his own at about 7 or 8 weeks - no training or special approach from me. He didn't seem to experience the 4 month wakeful. He's had a week here or there where he'll wake up once a night at like 5 or 6 and want to be fed, but these seem to correlate with either cutting a tooth, growth spurt or illness.
N STTN at 7 weeks. I remember because I woke up on the morning of Thanksgiving and realized we had all slept through the night, hooray! With the exception of a few sick nights, he generally sleeps 8-6 or 7. I am pretty sure all my mom friends hate me.

I did. DS always slept in his crib, gave a 5 hour stretch at 6 weeks and then STTN at 10 weeks. No regressions, just a couple of bad nights here and there. He is 20 months.
I think he might be a sleep talker. I heard him talking to his pumpkins at 2am.

DS talks CONSTANTLY when he is awake and OFTEN when asleep.

Nods was a pretty good sleeper, she would generally sleep for long stretches at a time from an early age . We went through a period around 15 months where she didn't sleep well at all, and was up every 2 hours. After I night weaned her that helped a ton, but she still gots up once a night until she was almost 2. She would come into our bed, then cuddle and sleep the rest of the night.
Ace is a really great sleeper. He has always slept well. Even right now at almost 4 months he's been waking up a little bit more at night to eat. But he doesn't cry. He just starts getting really squirmy and after I feed him he falls right back asleep
