We are fine, baby is fine, but man it scared the hell out of me.
I took DH's truck in to get a tire fixed today. I had my mom take me up to his work so I could get my car and just left him without a vehicle. So, I went to pick him up for lunch and I was driving and we were headed home. I was stopped at a red light (I drive a Honda Fit, so little 4 door car) and a semi comes up behind me and starts pushing my car forward. I am pushing the breaks as hard as I can and laying on the horn and I keep getting pushed forward towards the SUV in front of you (mind you we were still at a RED LIGHT). Apparently the semi driver didn't see me. DH jumps out of the car, throws something at his windshield, and goes over and opens up the passenger door and starts yelling at him. I just started bawling.
Luckily there was a cop just a few cars behind so I was barely talking to 911 before the cop was there checking us out. We only moved a few feet but I was so scared he was going to push us into the other vehicle. I just ended up with a scratched up bumper. We did the whole police report and I called up to my doctor's office to see what he wanted me to do. The nurse told me I could go in and get monitored at the hospital if I wanted but it didn't sound necessary. I told her I really didn't think I needed to. The seat belt didn't even put pressure on me or anything. Baby girl has been very active and probably didn't even notice. I have an appointment up there at the beginning of the week. If I felt any reason I needed to go in I would, but I really don't think I do.
After that DH and I went to eat lunch, happened to run into my brother, and got him to join us. I'm now back home and DH is back at work. I'm planning on taking a shower and spending the rest of the day on the couch watching Netflix.
Big ((hugs))! That is so so scary! I'm glad you, your DH, and your little girl are okay! Your plans for taking a shower and watching Netflix sound like the perfect way to relax and unwind after all of that.
DH was cute. He wanted me to come home and take a nap but I told him I was too wound up to take a nap. He approved of my Netflix plan.
Thanks girls. I have only been in one accident before (I was young and an old lady ran a stop sign and hit my dad) and it was pretty minor. This was really nothing but oh so scary. I am just sooooo thankful DH was with me.
