Last year was so good, I'm probably doing the same thing:
Deep fried turkey Bacon leek (cornbread?) stuffing Mac n cheese (trying the infamous ML grandma nugget's) Mashed potatoes Sweet potatoes Jalapeño corn casserole Green bean casserole Cranberry sauce
my sister brings pies, usually Costco, Apple, pumpkin, pecan (although Target has a really good bourbon pecan pie that DH and I usually get too)
My inlaws will be here this year and I'm sure MIL will want to make something too.
I want to try a cranberry & Brie puff pastry app. I also make this cranberry herb cream cheese dip, but I'll prob just pick one of those.
ISO a gravy recipe. By deep frying turkey the turkey there's no drippings. I might roast some wings the night before to use.
That sounds SO good! I think my H and I are having a low-key Thanksgiving this year with just the two of us, so we're having salmon. When we went to MIL's, there would be turkey, mashed potatoes, mashed butternut squash, stuffing, corn, and various other sides like a sweet potato casserole. My signature dish is green beans sautéed with butter and garlic. The desserts would be apple pie, lemon meringue pie, pumpkin pie, and cheesecake.
I am hosting this year (for the first time) for the In-Laws. My dinner menu is long...lol Here goes:
Beverages: Sparkling Pumpkin and Apple Cider Homemade crock-pot apple cider Apple Pie Sangria Cranberry Pineapple Punch
Main Course: Turkey stuff with onions, apples and oranges Garlic Mashed Potatoes Stuffing Parmesan Green Beans Creamed Corn Fluff & 2 kinds of jello Peas Gravy Cranberry Sauce Cucumber Salad Cinnamon Brown sugar baked sweet potatoes Glazed carrots Pasta Salad 2 different kinds of rolls
Desserts: Pumpkin Pie Apple Pie Pecan Pie Coconut Cream Pie Peach Cobbler Caramel Apple Dip w/ fruit Pumpkin Truffles 2 different kinds of pumpkin cookies And haven't picked the cheesecake I want to make
We'll be in Florida at my grandmothers house this year so keeping it easy. DH and I will make a side or 2.
Usually we have: Turkey Stuffing Gravy Mashed potatoes and/or mashed sweet potatoes Broccoli casserole (or green bean casserole if with DH's family) Cranberry sauce (I like the canned stuff, my parents like homemade) Sometimes crescent rolls
We will be in Florida too! I will make my mom's mashed potatoes and H will make his cranberry sauce (it has apple pie spice in it, which smells so amazing!) and the ILs will do the rest.
travelbug are you feeding a small country? I am jealous of the nine desserts!
I am making nothing. Actually no one in my family is- we go out to dinner now. We have for the last few years. It's great. The restaurant serves the following, all you can eat:
Chicken a la Rhine Soup, Tossed Salad with Choice of Dressing, Homemade Rolls with Butter, Roast Turkey with Gravy, Baked Glazed Ham, Roast Top Round of Beef, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Glazed Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans with Mushrooms & Onions, Pumpkin or Mince Pie, Sherbet or Ice Cream.
The Saturday after, we are having Thanksgiving #2 with H's family at his aunt's house. I think I'm going to make Pumpkin Cream Pie (never made it before but it sounds good and pretty easy).
Turkey and gravy made from the turkey juices mmm Bread-based stuffing Mashed potatoes with aforementioned gravy Green bean casserole Rolls Pecan pie Chocolate merengue pie - I like to make the meringue look like Bowser's shell or say my initials lol. I'll have to think of some new artwork for this year.
I usually make a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast casserole for the early bird workers too.
I'm at my IL's this year. They do a few things different than we do....still all very good!
When we have hosted a Thanksgiving dinner at our house, we usually do:
Roasted Turkey Cornbread Cornbread Stuffing Sweat Potato Casserole Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus Cranberry Sauce with toasted pecans in martini glasses Pumpkin Pie Tea Wine * our guests have usually opted to bring mashed potatoes or some sort of original potato dish.

We always do a very basic, traditional (and yummy) Thanksgiving. This year we're going to my parents and my mom is going to start the turkey and probably do the pies but DH and I are going to finish when we get there.
Turkey Stuffing Mashed potatoes Twice-baked potatoes Cranberry sauce (from a can! I don't want to hear it from the haters, that stuff is awesome) Broccoli cheese casserole Veggie (probably corn) Some type of rolls Pumpkin pie Apple pie I might make pumpkin cheesecake too
