Now as to the why, I have no idea! The only thing I've heard is the quinine in the tonic water helps with the cramps. Believe it or not we also used to put a bar of soap under the sheets and that actually cured his night leg cramps which were awful. My mom had shared that tip with me, I thought she was nuts, I googled it, found lots of people swore by it, but no one could explain why. Crazy but true.
Mine are usually due to not drinking enough water.
This makes sense, as I haven't been drinking enough water the past few days, but yesterday I drank a TON of water compared to the few days before.
I ended up just doing some work on my computer standing up at the counter for awhile, and then sat in a chair where my feet could touch the ground. Coupled with the ibuprofen, that seemed to help! I was mostly concerned about getting them in the middle of the night too, but I didn't, so yay!
