I also wish that this hiring freeze was over in October like they predicted in May. Best case scenario, it's going to be January, but I'm not banking on it.
I wish my car registration had been renewed two years ago like I thought it was! Motherfucker.
Two YEARS ago? Did you somehow not know for two years?!
I paid everything, but it was apparently not processed. My insurance is up to date, so they didn't realize either.
The way it is now, the DMV sends the registration and you just send in the payment and keep the other part of the form in the car - no confirmation, no sticker, nothing. I paid with online banking, so I can see the payment was sent. This was also 2012, aka the worst year of my life in every respect - health, marriage, job...so I probably didn't follow up as diligently as I should have.
I did not get a renewal form for this year (each renewal is for 2 years), so that's what tipped me off.
I guess this is the best way to find out though. Years ago, I was with my friend who got pulled over, they told her her reg was expired, and they towed her car on the spot.

MyName okay that makes way more sense, having paid and just not getting it processed. I was thinking you'd somehow just gone years without paying or anything!

MyName - That's frustrating to deal with but at least you saw the silver lining! @kjewell - I think you said before that Thanksgiving-eve if the worst day of the year at work, right? Do you and H at least have Thanksgiving off? I'm sorry and I hope you get through the holidays quickly!
Yes, it is a nightmare. Plus I think it will be worse this year because I am at a much busier store then I have been in the past.
We are open until 5 pm on Thanksgiving so there is a good chance we will have to work. Some managers will let department heads take it off, some won't. H will most definitely be working but I won't know until next week if I will or not.
I hope I am off just because dinner is at my house this year. My mom is going to come over and help with the cooking it will still get done even if I am ate work, it would just be nice to be here to help her.

I wish all my work correspondence was only through email and not through phone calls. I hate checking voicemail and having to call people back, especially if it's not a direct line and I have to put in an extension or possibly leave a voicemail for them. I always think I sound like a dork when I'm leaving messages for someone.

OPS, I feel like I ramble every time I leave a voice mail message. I really don't like phone correspondence and I have to mentally prepare for it. So when an answering machine picks up my head goes "OMG WHAT DO I SAY?!" And I word vomit. Lol.

Exactly!
Plus, I never have a good tracking system for phone conversations, but I prefer emails to refer back to later. I have a couple of managers that I will email questions or clarification items to, and instead of responding to email, they will immediately call me to discuss. It's frustrating for me since I like to have something tangible that I can easily find in my archives, and then their "responses" are not there and I have to find where I wrote down the details of the phone conversation instead.
