Do you decorate for Christmas the weekend of Thanksgiving?
We normally spend Friday night listening to Christmas music, drinking and setting up. We had a running joke that we were setting up November 9th. The 9th came and I said "OK let's go." But Jay didn't to. Womp womp. So I set out a little Santa because NO ONE IS GOING TO TELL ME I CAN'T SET UP CHRISTMAS. LOL
I will be decorating this weekend or next since I'll be gone the entire week after Thanksgiving. I can't wait! @ello, I usually leave my decorations up until the Super Bowl. It definitely helps with the winter blahs.

I decorate for Christmas whenever I get a chance after Thanksgiving. Two of H's brothers and their SOs are staying with us so I'm hoping I get the chance Sunday night.
ETA: If we decorate at all. If we're not going to be home much (like last year) we don't bother.
Like, the whole house or just a tree? Don't take this the wrong way, but why bother going through all that work for just a day? You, GLW, have left me utterly confused! LOL

The whole house. We put the ornaments on the IL's tree on Xmas morning if we're there. We don't un-decorate until mid-January so everything is up for a while.
I guess I don't get the whole "Christmas season" starting in November. For me the season is Dec. 24- mid-January.
You are missing out! lol
For me it's "holiday season" mid-November to Jan 6th (which is Epiphany/3 kings day/little sister's bday). But I keep my decorations up because winter sucks balls.
I like separation between Thanksgiving, which is the perfect holiday because -food -football -no stress -more food -pretty leaves
and Christmas, which is -stress of having to figure out presents for 230475 people -annoying music -families annoyed at being forced to pretend to like each other -maybe snow? -everyone is stressed out and bitchy

I decorate from November on, slowly busting out boxes and putting things out. The tree goes up the week after Thanksgiving so all the big decorating is that time.

We put up the outdoor lights last weekend (the last nice weekend we will probably had) but we won't do the indoor stuff until either the weekend after Thanksgiving, or the first weekend in December.
I am already done decorating for Christmas! Except the outside lights, since the day MH was suppose to put up the new ones, it rained, then snowed and has been too cold and icy since. We have already had our Thanksgiving though, and we won't be home for the next 3 weekends, so it worked out best this way!
Our tradition with my step daughter is to wake up, the 2 of them pick out our tree and then we all decorate together while getting hammered on some kind of eggnog cocktail. It is nice that she has been 21 for a while!! We also will decorate the house slowly that weekend. I love the transformation.
Birthdays are a big part of my holiday season too, so I think that increases my love of it. My bday is 11/29, S's was 12/17, my sister is 1/6, and one of my best friends is 1/15. So there are all kinds of extra celebrations in my world.

Same here. Mine is 12/7, Jay's is 11/9 and all 4 of my nieces are between October and December. (Although, that kinda sucks on my wallet.)
