We have a 7' artificial. As much as I would "like" a real tree, I think I only like the theory of it. The needles would drive me nuts, cats drinking the water would drive me nuts and sap would drive me nuts.
I just burn some pine scented candles and call it a day

We do artificial because it's easy. I've had a small one the last few years, but bought a bigger one (maybe like 6') on sale after Christmas last year.
The small one will go in the front bedroom this year and the bigger one in the living room. And that reminds me, I still need a tree skirt for the new one.

Our 'tree' is really just three boards nailed together in a triangle tree shape with tinsel and lights and bulbs all over it. That way it's flat and doesn't take up room. We put it on the front porch because dogs and kids.
We do artificial because I am allergic to real trees. H complains every year, it's like he doesn't understand that I WILL DIE. Okay, not really. I won't die but I do spend the entire Christmas season sick as a dog if we have a real tree.
Artificial. My H is too much of a neat freak to have a real one. He would have a heart attack with all of the pine needles on the floor.
This exactly.
I grew up with a real tree, so I prefer it to be real.
However, we ended up getting a very realistic artificial, so its not too bad. Its probably around 8 feet? H hates the balsam candle too, but I don't even care. I get to bring it out for like, one day a year to get my Christmas-pine scent on.

So. I usually do real. This MIGHT be the first time I cave and get an artificial tree. There are lots of pros to it, I've just never had one and I'm struggling with the idea.

Real. Always real. We used to cut down a tree, but where we live now, there are no firs, so we buy it. We alternate every year. Dh likes "reasonable" size trees, so 5-6'. I like to use the crazy high ceiling we have, so when it's my turn, we get an eight footer. This year is my year. I can't wait!
I've always had a real tree, for my entire life until last year. Paul wanted a artificial one so it wouldn't die so quickly since they don't last as long once they are shipped over here on the boat. I actually don't hate it and I think it looks nice. It's a 7ft pre lit one.
We have an artificial 7.5 ft tree that I got from my friend for our first Christmas after we got married. It has been great for us! I saw a 12' artificial tree that I want so bad, but you know, my ceilings are only 10 feet so that would not work!

DH breaks out in a rash... but still gets a real one, lol
I grew up with a fake one (and remember assembling it branch by branch!) so I don't really care either way.
What kind of reaction do you have? Do you have to touch it or just be around it?
I get a rash if I touch it but I also get sick (cold like) if I am even just around them
