Hello,
I recently learned to knit, and am currently working on a baby blanket for my 6 month old nephew as a Christmas gift. It is currently 24x24, but I know that I need to make it larger. On average, what should the dimensions be for a baby blanket? For the record, the baby is growing fast and is likely to be tall since my brother is 6'4". He was 10lbs, 21in at birth.

Honestly, baby blankets can be any size you want!
If it's to go over them in the car seat or just to wrap them in, then 24 x 30 or 30 x 36 is great. 40 x 40 is a pretty standard size for quilts, which is perfect for laying on the ground for belly time but a bit too big for a lovey.

Thanks everyone! Here's a picture of what I have so far. The lighting is bad, but I'm happy with it four my first project. RockNVoll yup, I'm in the bay area, south bay. Where were you when you were here?
