"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley
I find this quite interesting. If it weren't for this site, I'd actually have no idea it's CFA appreciation day. I haven't seen a peep about it on FB from anyone.
Yeah, after getting in to it with a friend of a friend who thinks Obama is a muslim who eats dog, 8-D 8-D 8-D I think I am taking a break from facebook for a while.
Posts like this make me want to go hug all my friends and family since I am willing to state with 97% certainty that nothing along these lines will show up in my feed.
Of course if somebody in my family was pro-chick-fil-a I'm pretty sure they'd get disowned.
It helps that I've defriended or refused to accept pretty much everybody that I don't actually like.
People in my feed have been all about the "freedom of expression" of CFA, while quick to clarify that THEY support gay marriage, of course, but it's just CFA's opinion.....
Sure, and it's my opinion that I don't want to eat there. Even if they do have the best milkshakes ::sobs::

will you stop talking about the damn milkshakes!
there is a chickfila about 2 miles from my office. And one of my coworkers goes there every couple of days and always asks if I want anything. (I've taken to telling him that I do not want his hate chicken and that I'm donating to GLAAD in his name) It'd be so EASY to just say, Sure! Grab me a milkshake.
But no. NO MILKSHAKES. My little ice cream craving prune baby does not trump my principles. :-(
I swear, though, I'm like a 4 year old. If I feel like I can't have something, then I want it. I really freaking want Chik-fil-a today.
This is me too! I only ever crave CFA on days like today or on Sundays. I swear, if someone wanted me to eat more leafy greens, all you'd have to do is tell me how bad it is for me and how Leafy Greens, Inc. is anti-gay and anti-woman and it would be all I could think about.

Wawa I had the milkshakes while I was pregnant. I made it about 20 weeks, had one, and bam, I was an addict. I've stopped again and blame Will for my lapse but man they were good.
That said, Potbelly also has some really awesome milkshakes. Maybe even better.
You know what I find interesting? Three of my gay friends in my feed have said they are not going to stop going to CFA over this because they don't want to punish the independent franchise owners.
That's nice and all, but the money still goes to the same place. And it's not going to be my money going there.

Seriously, I only pass by the Chick-Fil-A near my house on Sundays and then I think, "Mmm, Chick-Fil... Dammit!"
Anyway, I doubt this will show up on my feed. I think I have people who are anti-gay or pro-Chick-Fil-A on there, but they aren't idiots who will post this stuff and argue about it.

This is my favorite so far.
With the caption "Click 'like' below, if you support free speech and fried chicken!" Do people really not get that deciding where you will and won't spend your money based on your own beliefs is a free speech thing, even if you aren't a fundamentalist Christian? I know, it's a difficult concept... Also, how does one support fried chicken?
I'm watching my feed and my bitch face is on. I posted the video about Tom Bridegroom recently and only got 5 likes. WTF, FB friends?
Here's one to blow your mind. My sister recently reconnected with an old coworker from Disney World. When she knew him very well 15 years ago, he was married with no kids, then left his wife and had various gay relationships. My sister lost touch with him until a year ago, found on FB. She was a little surprised to see that he was back with his wife and has 3 kids, but good for them. BUT...this week he posted an obnoxious pic of himself along the lines of "Who has two thumbs and supports Chick Fil A? This guy!" and his comments since then have revealed an anti-gay sentiment.
I may not defriend, but I'll probably block updates. Waiting for my cousin and other family from the midwest to post their "Eat More Christian Chicken" updates as we get closer to lunch.
Seriously - any company with any type of PR concerns today should be battening down the hatches as far as their employees' dining plans today.

Come fly out here and I'll take you to get a Nations milkshake and you can drown your sorrows in delicious ice cream. And we can get a pie while we're there.
Also, a question. Would you assume that there is any ulterior motive for people "liking" CFA on FB? I went to the page today to fuel my hatred for homophobes and noticed that it said "13 of your friends like FB." I would just assume they all suck, but one of them is one of the few people who expressed supportive comments when I posted the Tom Bridegroom video, Equal Love Equal Rights. WTF is she doing liking CFA? Could it be to keep an eye on their posts? But wouldn't you be worried about what your public "like" is implying?

I'd assume she "liked" them at some point in the past to get a free coupon or something and just hasn't unliked them. I'd forgotten that I liked my local chick-fil-a sometime last year until something from them popped up in my feed the other day.

If they did it within the past week, I would think it was "We like Christian Chicken," but if it was before that, no, I wouldn't think anything of it.
This reminded me to check the social media pages I manage to make sure it's not "liked." Not today especially, regardless of how long it has been "liked."
