I'm watching HLN Morning Express, and they're doing a segment on the Georgia v Auburn game that's happening this weekend. They have one of my favorite Top Chefs on (Hugh Acheson) who is making a pickled shrimp salad with farro for a tailgate party. He's also got ribs on the grill...but pickled shrimp/farro salad for a tailgate? That's so random!
Too bad I can't invite you over with all my Christmas decorations out...because I have boxes of TJ's spiced cider (they let me buy it by the case), plus brandy, rum, and honey whiskey.
Can I come?! I don't mind Christmas decor before Thanksgiving!

If he was on Top Chef for the tail gating food episode he would get kicked off. I do love the 5 and 10 and Empire state south.
I'm feeling crazy with this house stuff happening!
To make partiallysunny happy, we will all also write down things we are grateful for, and we will put them on the tree, too. So it can be a THANKSGIVING tree for the next 2 weeks.

yeah...the ingredients sound like they would be good together (in theory). Shrimp, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, dill, farro... I could see it being good, but it's not tailgate food.
Sometimes you hear about coworkers not doing their job and you sympathize with the person complaining. And you haven't yet had that experience with the offending coworker.
Today that person didn't do her job and it crossed with an employee who needed help and simple questions answered, and called me because this coworker didn't give her ANY information when directly asked. Basically did nothing because she is lazy. So now I know what it feels like to be frustrated with this person. Do your damn job.
I found a Wizard a few days ago! She was born in the 40's... what kind of pre-hippy parent named their kid Wizard in the 40's. Unless they changed it themselves.

I have to provide peer feedback to all of the social workers here as part of a team building thing. This is not a good idea.
HR is pretty stupid.
You need to judge the tone of the workplace before doing this stuff, it can be risky.
You have fun! lol Ick.
Wanna know this best part? This isn't even from HR. This is some training crap that the social workers are using. So this is being forced on us by a supervisor, who is a former social worker here.
We have to pick three areas every person is fluent in and then three they need to improve on. This is going to hurt feelings and tear apart the (already fragile) structure we have.
doriswe have you talked to the supervisor? It seriously might be a good idea to say something
Yup...she's got to do it too. She said I need to do it and agrees with the awfulness of it. AND we get the peer feedback (anonymously) during our meeting on Wednesday. I think it's just awful because I *KNOW* that people's feelings are going to be hurt by this. As much as co-irker sucks, she doesn't need to be sitting in a room of her peers and be told that all of us think she sucks and this, this and this.
I told my supervisor, I think this should be handled differently. We're not allowed to give actual comments in our feedback, just check a box by a trait. How can I change if I have no clue what specific issue is at hand? Feedback should be given by the supervisors, on a one-on-one, so they can talk to us about it and provide goals for working on stuff.
ETA: I DO think we should all be aware that we can always do better and be better...but this is not the way to do this.

The cold that has arrived has kicked out any motivation I have to get things done today.
Gross random. I have a staph infection in my nose. When I sneeze scary things come out. I need to go to Costco and pick up my prescription to fix it but.. See above random.
