S/o of sweeping things under the rug

My brother is gay and hasn't come out to the family. I'm pretty sure that my mom knows as well as the rest of my family *except* for my dad. I am guessing my dad is either ignorant or choosing to ignore it and hope for that he is actually straight lol.
My brother isn't flamboyant in any way, he dresses metrosexual but has a very deep voice and is quiet in body language. My hope is that one day he will just tell the family so that I can roll my eyes and say,"duh".

It really bothers me how my dad just chooses to think he is straight. I wish he would just admit it so that my brother can be himself and it's not the unspoken giant in the room around family. I know if my dad faced the truth he would be hurt but I would hope that he would just choose to love my brother the way that he is.

I don't really know the point of my post, other then I just want to say how sad it is that people can't be who they are in front of their family.

so...sorta on topic...

last night i just watched the glee episode (yes i'm far behind) where santana came out to her family....

and yes, definitely, i agree. people need to just accept people for who they are. knowing who they love makes absolutely no difference than who they were 10 minutes ago.

I agree with this. No one should be ashamed of who they are. It's sad that we live in a world that some people can't accept everyone for their differences.

i have seriously wondered this about my brother.. he's had this 'roommate' for years now (he's only 20 but he's lived with him since before he was 18, long story) but i've only seen my brother have 1 gf.. anyway, he's always with the guy and always tells me, i'm getting yelled at because dinner is done, or we're going on a run, or we bought matching cars or dirt bikes or whatever. i'd never ask, but i'd wish he'd tell me if it were the case. i think my assumptions are far fetched *maybe*.. anyway, i'ms orry, and i hope things work out too.
