I tried using this a while ago but my lips were tingly/slightly painful after so I stopped using it. I hadn't heard about other people having this problem (and worse!). Sorry about your lips, hope they're feeling better soon!
I'm refraining from making a Napoleon Dynamite joke.

Woke to super puffy lips and numbness. They still hurt. I haven't used the offending product in over 48 hours. The puffiness goes down but my lips are tingly and swollen. It's AWFUL.
THIS PRODUCT IS REALLY FUCKING UP MY LIPS.
I'm a day or two away from going to the doctor I think.
For others who have gone through this, how long did it take to heal?

I'm so sorry about your lips, but I loled at that.

Sleep tonight with more pillows so the fluid doesn't build up in your face overnight. I think you need to take an antihistamine to get your body to stop reacting. That's probably what the tingling is. Also wash your lips (assuming you haven't already).
Just curious - Do you have any other allergies? I found that I'm allergic to both Old Bay seasoning and dried eucalyptus branches by getting a swollen lower lip.

Lush makes great lip balms. Overnight I use the stuff Vespasia recommended and it is AMAZING. Neither have the limmenon or whatever its called someone posted up thread.

I have no allergies otherwise.
Do you mean take a Benadryl?
Thanks for the tips! I have actually like concentrated on washing my lips; that's a good idea. Ditto on the pillows.

Were you eating the eucalyptus? Are you a koala?
Idk if it's the same as what koalas eat but it's that dried plant with round powdery leaves that's in floral arrangements. My mom was doing a craft project with it and I touched it like "ooh! Never saw this up close before" and then touched my face and then, bam.

I haven't been able to find mine since I moved. I need to order another from Amazon.
I just bought a Softlips Cube from Ulta to replace the Eos ones. At least they won't go to waste, they make great cat toys!
heyjude have you tried taking an anti-inflammatory, like aleve or ibuprofin? Ice pack?
I have Advil with me right now; I haven't tried. Do you think this would help.
Yes, take the advil. It's an anti-inflammatory. You should also take something with anti-histamine; benadryl, zyrtec or claritin would all work.
I would actually stop washing your lips. You may be irritating them more at this point. The offending ingredient is gone and your skin just needs time to work it out. I have been using triple antibiotic ointment on my lips instead of chapstick and it seems to be helping; give it a try.
I feel your pain, to a lesser extent. My lips are still a little blistered and peely from this stupid balm.

So did you ultimately go to the doctor?
I didn't because mine started clearing up on its own. I pretty regularly break out in hives a couple of times a year (yay sensitive skinned red head...) and this is always my plan of attack. Vaseline works wonders too since it creates a barrier. Hang in there!

Lip balm is really easy to make and once you have the ingredience very cheap. You just need a butter ( coco butter, shea butter, mango butter) and oil ( sunflower, sweat almond, olive) and beeswax. Add a few drops of essential oil for flavor and your done. I got tubes from amazon and made them as Christmas gifts last year. There are tons of recipes on line.
OMG. I take zyrtec daily. And about a month ago I was a little more miserable than usual, so I stopped taking zyrtec and tried something different (benadryl and allegra). I broke out in hives all over my neck, chest and arms. I could NOT figure it out. I got put on steroids, etc and was told to take the steriods WITH the zyrtec. And it finally went away.
I bet it was stopping zyrtec all along. WTFFFFF
Yup. That's exactly what it was.
My palms and the bottom of my feet get bright red and super itchy. My feet feel like I'm walking on pins and needles to the point where I can barely walk. It's miserable. So either I need to be in severe pain for 2 weeks to give it up, or continue to take zyrtec daily. Since zyrtec is the only thing that touches my allergies, guess which I choose?
All of this. Also, be careful, it made me extremely depressed. That is why I stopped taking it. My dr. looked at me like I was crazy, but I know this is what was causing my depression. I couldn't figure out what was happening to me and then found a couple of discussions online about it causing depression. I quit it cold turkey (and itched like crazy) and the depression was gone within a few days.
Yesterday was the first day I woke up w/ lips that didn't look like Frakenstein's Botox patient. Yay! I think the claritan and Advil worked so thanks to all who suggested that. There's still some minor after effects but there has been dramatic improvement.

I have been having major issues with my lips since I started using this. I have a clown like, dry ring around my mouth and even though I've completely stopped using EOS, it's still flaring up.
I've never known that others have had an issue with this!!

If you google around there are a ton of people complaining. How long since you last used it? I'm still having issues but it's much better. But I hope these issues aren't forever.

I have still got some redness and a dry ring just around my lips and it's been about 4-5 months. It's almost cleared up but will still get brighter off and on. I'm afraid to use anything other than aquaphor around my mouth. It seems like the skin is very sensitive to things like sunscreen, so I even tried to avoid using that.
It took me a while to figure out the cause. At first I was applying more EOS because I thought it would help my dry lips but I ended up with peeling skin. I bought this product initially because I thought it had healthy, natural ingredients.

Sorry to bump this thread but I woke up this morning with red, swollen and burning lips. Guess what I had put on my lips before bed? I threw out every single ball I own. Never again.
