Boy! Happy to get confirmation today. I would have been really thrown for a loop if they had told me it was a girl.
Anatomy scan looks great all around except for one thing. He had one foot tucked behind the other and my doctor is concerned it may be club foot. She's sending me for an additional ultrasound at the ante partum testing center to see if they can get a better look. Now I'm all worried his leg is going to be fucked up.
But he's otherwise healthy and looks good, so I'm trying to focus on that.
Worst case, a club foot can definitely be fixed--there are professional athletes who were born with them--I think Troy Aikman among them if I remember correctly.
Congrats! I have a 2 year old who was born with clubfoot and it has been a relatively easy process, and people who meet him now would never know that he ever had an issue with his foot unless I tell them. Good luck at your next scan - hopefully it's nothing!
Congrats! A friend of my H's had a baby girl who was born with club foot. You'd never know it - they fixed it right away and she can run, jump, and play with the best of them! She can even outrun my DD, which is saying a LOT. LOL!

isabel I'm going tomorrow for my level 2 u/s because my little one wouldn't cooperate with his or her feet last week! I'm like 98% sure they're just being cautious and 2% freaked out and worried. I totally get you.

Yeah for boys!!
I hope the club foot is just the one of scare that most of ius have gotten but even if it's not there are so many things that can be done now to help that dx.

My doctor was totally blase about the whole thing. Like, "since his foot was tucked under the other, I couldn't quite see it and I think there could be potential for clubfoot, so I want you to go back to the testing center for another ultrasound. No rush, just go in the next few weeks." And then she started talking about something else. I was like, "uh, so, going back to the clubfoot thing..."
DH thinks she's just being cautious since it didn't sound like she was all that worried about it. I'm feeling better and better the more I read about it though. Not typically the case when you google medical issues.
Good luck with yours! I hope everything is just fine.

That was exactly how my doc approached it! "So baby wouldn't cooperate as show us both feet. We need to just double check for a club foot situation with a better machine." I will admit that of all possible problems this one seems to be manageable; I just hope we don't have to deal with it.
