Hi! My home board is MMM, but H and I are starting to work on a few smaller house projects and I'm looking for some inspiration.
We have a 4BR home, with three bedrooms being used currently and one is sort of a make-shift home office/treadmill room. Eventually we plan to have one more child, so that room will become a bedroom at some point. I'd like to move the home office stuff out into our basement family room (split level home) and finally finish off one of the main areas of the house.
Does anyone here have a combo family room/office? The room is sort of long and narrow, so we're thinking of putting a desk on the backside of a couch for a little office nook in the back part of the room, sort of like this:
I'd love to see photos if anyone else has done something like this, or suggestions that you may have found and liked!
My house has a great room concept with the TV and old tyme stereo. My office is the adjacent breakfast room. It was great when DS was younger and I wanted to keep the computer in a public space. Now that DS is in college and DH/DS are watching TV while I"m trying to work- TBH I want to stab them. It's hard to work/think in a space where other people are partaking entertainment.

We have kind of a t.v. room and then a living room that's more playroom style. We did get a drop-down desk and have our filing cabinets and printer there, although realistically we do all our work on our laptops. I do love the desk, though. Please ignore how junky it is in there. ;-)

I love this desk. Where is it from? I meant to post the question awhile ago and forgot but am looking for this style desk!

This one was actually from Craigslist, and was an ugly yellow-ivory that I had painted. Ballard Designs used to have a similar one, but I looked for it recently and couldn't find it anymore.
