Has anyone started dropping their garbage off at the city transfer stations? How long have the lines been?
I drove by it (ETA: the dump station in Wallingford) the other day. Doesn't seem like much of a line. But then again, you're paying to throw your garbage away, so I bet that's kind of a deterrant, esp. since SPU keeps calling me to let me know that once pick ups start again, I won't get charged for extra bags.
I've heard restaurants are doing it though.
I thought I saw that if you have a driver's license or utility bill that shows you live in Seattle, they'll let you drop it off for free until the strike ends? Maybe that doesn't go into effect until a few more days of this?
We have one bag of garbage in our Bon. Our yard waste is not very full , except that's where our food waste goes and it stinks bad!!
Ummm yeah, I just went to take out our compost and I started gagging at the smell. Seriously, who decided that a garbage strike in the middle of the summer was a good idea?
