responsible for the booze and two apple pies (don't worry, @booby, i am bring 6 bottles for 5 adults- 2 champ, 2 red, 2 white so i won't be bogarting a bottle of the finest $9 sweet white)
What are you cooking? We're having turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, cranberry sauce, applesauce jello, mac n cheese, green beans and bread; then two kinds of pie
Anybody making grandma nugget's mac and cheese? I wanted to, but I've made "fancy" mac n cheese the past two years and my sister, her DH, and her kids always complain it's not boxed Shells and cheese. She's in charge of bringing the mac n cheese this year.
Dish you're most excited for? None really, I do like the stuffing and only eat it once a year, so I guess that.
Dressing or stuffing? I call it stuffing, but I guess it's dressing b/c it doesn't go IN the bird.

That cutting it a little close. I'd have to bring reinforcements.
We are taking advantage of the couple days off of school and going away to some place warm. Just the three of us. We did this last year and are making it our Thanksgiving tradition.
I'm not cooking anything, just helping. I'll ask if they want me to bring something when I talk to my mom this weekend.
No.
Ham and my mom's rolls. Yum.
I like neither dressing or stuffing. /Sorrynotsorry
My family is quite large as well (my immediate family is 14 including spouses & kiddos and extended family is also coming) so mostly it's fun to hang out and see everyone. And play card games.
I'm making the turkey, cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts, cornbread and pecan pie. Others will bring cheese and crackers, mashed potatoes, cheesy cauliflower, stuffing and 4 other pies. We like to have almost one pie per person, lol.
I'm always excited for sandwiches the next day! And pie. Lots of pie.
I'm supposed to go home to Buffalo. God knows what the weather will be like next week. I'm probably not cooking anything, but will help my mom with everything the day of. I'm most looking forward to mashed potatoes and gravy. Hoping my grandma makes her amazing apple pie-I make it too, but mine can't hold a candle to hers. No preference in terms of dressing or stuffing-I like them both. Can't wait for the leftovers!

For the past 5 years, DH and I have been invited to SS#1's inlaws for Thanksgiving. Last year, SS and his wife were having problems, and it didn't look like they were going to make it, so I hosted DH and I, and SS1 & 2. This year, SS#1 and DIL are back together, and we've been invited back to the ILs. We haven't really had any contact with them since the problems started, so this TG could be a nice reunion or an incredibly awkward dinner.
I was planning to host before we were invited to DIL's parent's, so I think I'm going to do a late TG dinner on the Saturday after and invite some local friends who may not have someone local to have turkey with. I love being able to go to someone's for dinner, but you gotta have leftovers!
I've always called it "stuffing", but I guess it's actually "dressing" since I don't put it in the bird. I won't be making any mac & cheese. I have a recipe very similar to NuggetGma, but that gets made throughout the year. I don't know that there is one specific food I'm excited about, my favorite part is the last few bites when everything is mixed together. I may actually pile stuff on my plate on purpose to get that.
I'm not hosting. We may go OOT to see my mom depending on weather. If we don't we're going to stay here and I'll do a turkey breast in the crockpot with mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans with lemon and butter, rolls and pie.
Most looking forward to the stuffing. DP hates it except on T-day.
DH and I are going to his family's this year and I am so, so excited! It's been a while since we celebrated Thanksgiving with them and the whole entire family is going to be there, even the out of state cousins.
GMIL always hosts and she does a great job. I'm looking forward to vegetables mornay (veggies in a cheese sauce) and lots of dressing. I'll be making my mom's cranberry sauce because H's family does a weird, sweet cranberry dessert thing and I need cranberries for my turkey and dressing.
And, as if it could get any better, my mom is coming out here to go nursery shopping with me in mid-December, so we're going to do a full Thanksgiving meal while she's here. I make awesome dressing and DH's brined turkey is incredible.
I adore Thanksgiving food, so this year is going to be fantastic.
When Logan was 8 months old, we hosted thanksgiving. Leo's parents are divorced and usually we alternate holidays on each house. This time: new baby. So we got everyone together. Well, my MIL didn't know what to do with herself. Even when she tried to help! She asked me never to put her through that again and she got drunk. She felt '" out of her element 'cause she wasn't cooking. Haha. I totally agree and I'll let her cook for as long as she can! I deserve a freaking medal!
I'm not having dinner at my house. DS#1, GD and I are going to an AA Thanksgiving dinner. It's a yearly event. It's lots of fun and I guess there'll even be a band there this year. Everyone is so happy and pleasant, so there's no drama.
