Are you hosting? What are you cooking? Anybody making grandma nugget's mac and cheese? Dish you're most excited for? Dressing or stuffing?
I have a huge family, 7 siblings and a ton of nieces and nephews. My parents live in a small apartment, so there's no way we can all fit. They are renting a house down in Palm Springs from Wednesday - Saturday and I'm really excited. Not all my siblings can make it, but they'll be 6 out of 8 of us there. Not bad.
I'm making grandma nugget's mac and cheese and green beans.
I look forward to my mom's dressing all year long.
We're heading to my SIL's in-laws of some sort and we're not local so I'll probably bring wine. I'm greatly looking forward to stuffing since H hates it so it's a rare treat for me.

We are going to my SIL's in Mississippi. I'm kind of bummed I'm not hosting this year! I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Maybe I'll make, like, a mini one when we get home. Because I'm crazy.
I'm taking a pretty expensive flight home for Christmas, so I couldn't go anywhere for Thanksgiving and have no family nearby. But a friend posted on Facebook that she had some spare seats available at her Thanksgiving for anyone who didn't have anywhere to go, so I took her up on it! It was really nice of her to post that! I'm bringing desserts. I think I'll make a traditional pumpkin pie, but I'll make a maple whipped cream to go with it, and then I'm thinking maybe a spiced pear and cranberry pie for something different.
I'm looking forward to the stuffing! Especially if it has add-ins like cranberries and almonds.
Hosting, my aunt, and sister and niece will be in town, my parents live nearby. My sister can't be here until Friday though, so we're doing the big meal on Saturday.
I'm probably cooking the same stuff as last year, I haven't had a lot of time to browse for new recipes for this year.
No Grandma Nugget mac n cheese (my Dad is GF), but I am going to make it for a gorup of friends soon.
I'm excited for leftover smoked turkey w/ cranberry bbq sauce.
Dressing in our house, because we smoke the turkey.

I am hosting part of DH's side of the family. There will be 7 adults and 3 kids (one is a newborn). I am making everything. It is better that way, lol. And we call it dressing, even though we stuff it in the bird. So confusing.
The maple whipped cream is really easy. You put the heavy whipping cream in a bowl and start whipping it with an electric mixer. When it's about half-way finished (kind of light, but still liquidy) you start drizzling in some real maple syrup. Just keep pouring while whipping. It actually takes a surprising amount of maple syrup to get a strong enough maple flavor to taste. I just keep pouring and tasting for a while until it's right.

Are you hosting? No but kind of yes. We are going to MILs but DH and I are in charge of the meal. She is recovering from a hip replacement surgery. Never cooking for Thanksgiving + not cooking in my own kitchen should make this interesting
What are you cooking? DH and I are finalizing this weekend but turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn and biscuits. BIL is making meatballs and a pie. I think SIL us doing veggies and salad
Anybody making grandma nugget's mac and cheese? I was going to but then saw a thread about others having trouble getting it right so now I'm second guessing myself
Dish you're most excited for? Honestly probably just the green bean casserole and the biscuits. I wish turkey wasn't a requirement lol
Dressing or stuffing? Stuffing at MILs but at my parents (where we are going later and my mom is cooking) we have a dressing recipe I have never seen anywhere else. It's a meat dish that contains liver. Lol if you don't grow up with it it seems really weird, but I like it.
We're staying home, just H and I and the girls, then having our parents and siblings and their kids over for dessert. I didn't want to host the full meal and nobody else offered. Still cooking a full turkey dinner and eating leftover turkey sandwiches for a week. Yum.
Stove Top stuffing here, and canned cranberry sauce. We're high class. I also do an apple, walnut and sausage stuffing but the kids freak when there is not Stove Top on the table. Then the usual: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli casserole, rolls.

Are you hosting? Sort of? I'm going up to my Dad's but I'm cooking there. He has a far nicer kitchen than I will ever have :-) What are you cooking? The standard traditional fare. My Dad is not someone with what you might call a refined palate Anybody making grandma nugget's mac and cheese? Definitely making mac and cheese, might be time to check out her recipe! Dish you're most excited for? I make some really awesome Turnips :-) Dressing or stuffing? The answer is now, and forever shall be STUFFING.

My mom is coming here to spend the week since the boys are off of school. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year, my favorite food. I'll do most of the cooking with some input from my mom, the menu has been the same for over 20 years. Our stuffing comes from a box, haters to the left. I can't wait for turkey leftovers and dump cake.

I do this with the coconut milk whipped cream in case dairy free people are interested
Yes, I'm hosting my BIL/SIL and their three kids. I think there's some major drama brewing over this. Anyway, I'm super happy they are coming and glad David can spend the holiday with his cousins. What are you cooking?
Very traditional Thanksgiving food, Chandler would hate it. Turkey, dressing (stuffing, whatever), green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and SIL is bringing pumpkin pie, cookies, rolls and bacon wrapped green beans. Anybody making grandma nugget's mac and cheese?
Yessssss Dish you're most excited for?
Dressing (stuffing) Dressing or stuffing?
My mom always called it stuffing even though she didn't stuff the turkey. I never heard the term "dressing" until I moved to the south. But no, I don't stuff the turkey.
Are you hosting? yes What are you cooking? sausage, cheese, & crackers, apricot baked brie, truffle butter turkey, white wine gravy, stuffing with celery and mushrooms, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, honey dinner rolls, lattice apple pie Anybody making grandma nugget's mac and cheese? no Dish you're most excited for? stuffing in the bird Dressing or stuffing? see above
Definitely not hosting, I tried once and it was a disaster. We are spending Thanksgiving with my Dad and driving up to see my uncle and his family. We'll do Thanksgiving with my mom on Friday. I'm sure between the two days I will eat all of the foods.
We're going to friends house and we'll all be cooking over there. I'm doing the greenbean casserole, stuffing, and dessert. We'll probably stay the night so we can drink too much and relax in their hot tub after dinner. DS and I will be the only Americans there which I think is find of funny. Friends are South African and H is Peruvian.
I'm not hosting, H's cousin is. I wish I was TBH, I'm a much better cook.
I'm making a roasted butternut squash and kale salad, and a dessert. I'm trying to decide between Bailey's cheesecake (my H's favorite) and Southern Living's carrot cake (my favorite). Neither are very Thanksgiving-ish but I don't have the opportunity to make a big dessert oten.
I guess I'm most looking forward to my butternut squash and kale salad, because it's the only thing I know will be good. Lol. That sounds harsh but H's family seriously makes everything so bland. They're good company though, so it's worth it.
I LOVE stuffing but H's family doesn't make it vegetarian and it's not great anyway (pretty sure they do Stove Top) so whatever.
I'm hosting for my own small family (just me, H, and 2 teens) and I offered to host up to 4 international students from the university. They sent an email sayign they are working on matches, but no final word on who, or how many, may be coming, which is driving me a bit batty. I NEED TO DO SHOPPING, PEOPLE!
I'm making the traditional stuff and I've only cooked Thanksgiving dinner a couple of times, so I don't really have the logistics down. I plan to do a lot on Wednesday evening and just cook the turkey and rolls on Thursday. H is in charge of mashed potatoes because he has this ridiculous, cream-cheese and cream based recipe. I look forward to it every year.

My parents are hosting thanksgiving this coming Sunday. They will be visiting my brother in SC on Thanksgiving. DH and I are going to cracker barrel on thanksgiving, and then on friday going to a big huge craft festival type thing so to speak.
Haha eb777888 I said the same thing about the stuffing/dressing.
The first time I heard the term "dressing" I was at my boyfriend's family's house for Thanksgiving and his two aunts were having a competition to see who had the best dressing.. I was like "damn, your family is serious about salads!" I totally thought they were making salad dressing. lol

My mom calls it dressing and she's from the Midwest. I don't think I've ever had legit stuffing before.

Oh, really? I'm from CA and I've never heard that term before. Maybe it's just my family. Or perhaps it's *regional* lol
I'm going to Trader Joes to do that portion of my thanksgiving food shopping today. Around noon. It is going to be a god damn mad house. Our Trader Joes turns into "Costco on the weekends" after like 9am. /weeps
