I would just do dresses and then put a knee sock or a baby leg on the other leg
This is what I was going to suggest. Skirts and dresses with a baby leg on the non cast side. Do they make tear away athletic pants for toddlers? I suppose that is also an option.
Poor baby I'm so sorry for her and you. I hope she heals quickly and you guys can keep her pain under control.
My DH broke his fibula and tibia on Feb 28th. He had surgery March 12th and was "non weight bearing" until May 15th. So crutches or a wheelchair at all times. By early July he was walking with a limp, but no crutches. By the end of July he was pretty much back to normal. Now that it's November he's going to start going to the gym again.
Poor baby! How crazy! Hope she heals quickly. Can she walk in that cast? I can't imagine my almost 2 year old trying to figure out crutches. Poor girl trips and falls all the time as it is now.
For pants, how about getting a bunch of cheap leggings then cutting part of the leg off for the broken leg? That way it should fit over the cast but you can also keep her thigh covered for warmth.
My DD broke her wrist last month and I used cut up tights and baby legs to cover it up and try to keep it clean. Poor thing! The good news is, kids bounce back super fast!
Thanks for all the kind thoughts and clothing suggestions. We went to kohls and got some cheap pants and can either cut part of one leg off or do whatever. Gotta love $4.50 pants!
I'm hoping she'll figure out how to walk on it eventually. Pp gives me hope!
I think I'm going to stick with diapers for a day or two until she gets more comfortable with the cast then go back to underwear. Hopefully this doesn't bite me in the butt!!
