That's right, I'm on East Coast time now! With nothing better to do but post here as I eat my breakfast sandwich from Au Bon Pain.
Side note: why can't we have them where I live except for people not knowing how to pronounce the name?
I discovered that a guy I used to love what feels like forever ago is on FB. I sent him a friend request and he accepted. He's still handsome. He lives in Hawaii, nothing will ever happen, but I got so excited that he accepted my friend request, which is silly.
This kid of mine needs to learn to sleep. I think we're in an "in between" stage of naps/no naps. He gets a nap, he wants to be awake all night. He doesn't get a nap and he's a holy terror up until bed time, then sleeps like shit. Or, he could be getting sick. Idk!
I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving and 4 days off.
There are stinky students in our common area. I didn't notice it when I went to my boss' office, but I sure did on the way back. They gave me the stinkeye too, we're letting you sit here because we're nice--don't push it.
Right now now im having coffee on the patio. I'll do a little bit of work this morning then I'm going to take my book and sit on the beach. Later I'm going to see Hunger Games with the parentals.
pinkplasticdoll sounds like a bit of reasonable and a bit of BEC. I appreciate people offering to bring things but it's so hard. You plan a meal, including sides, to all go together and then when someone brings something ender it can throw it all off. I'd probably welcome more desserts though, that's my favorite part of Thanksgiving.

I would have totally welcomed food from someone who A)hadn't assumed they were invited and B)didnt have some terrible cleaning/cooking habits. honestly I know I am being bec to an extent but I just dont trust food from either of their houses anymore.
You are not being crazy. I will not eat anything that comes from my Uncle's house. I just won't. They prepare food so awful.
This weekend was good. I had a neighbor thanksgiving yesterday. I ate so much amazing food. It was a blast. H and I think it was the best thanksgiving because it was so chill.

Let them bring whatever they want. You don't have to eat it.

I get not trusting food from either of them. And I would be supremely annoyed at SIL inviting herself/her family. Not okay, if she wanted an invite she should've called you to fish for one instead of just assuming.
ETA: That would be rude too, but less so than inviting oneself.
pinkplasticdoll, realistically, you are not uninviting sil and mil knows she screwed up, so now you just make the best of it, which means smiling and thanking them as they hand you casserole dishes of e. coli.

This lady that I've been doing alterations for has been a gigantic PITA. I've been finished with the dresses since 11/9 and she has ignored me/changed timing on when they are going to pick the dresses up 5 times. I just told her I needed to come a couple hours later today and she was like "this is really frustrating" I said "I've been really frustrated with your lack of a prompt response and information" and she freaked out at me and told me I was unprofessional. I haven't responded because I don't have any words to say that don't involve words that would need to be bleeped. Also, this isn't a bride or a customer, this is someones personal assistant. Her profession is scheduling things for her client and she's not that great at it. Everyone is irritating the shit out of me and it is only 9:30am.
The kids and I got picked to go to the Governor's Executive Residence for the annual Christmas tree lighting. I'm one of 24 families picked to go. I'm super fancy, yo!
