I got home from the grocery store with $250 of thanksgiving groceries, and our whole house has no power. What. The. Fuck. I called DH, who's on his way home to run the generator to save the turkey. Which will of course wake DS from a MUCH NEEDED nap. What the hell!?! The electric company says they are "aware of the outage and have trucks in the area." I sure as fuck don't see any.
On a positive note, DS INSISTED on using the potty even though it was DARK in his bathroom. I said "you can use your pull-up, it's okay, I know it's dark in there." He says "no momma, use potty!" He went 1 and 2! So proud of him, my big boy!
Ashley&Scott I vote cranberry or the electric blue. An extra $10 is nothing, that's like one cheap lunch out or a Starbucks run. Totally worth it for a cute color

Back from the gym, it was so great! The baby did just fine in childcare, and I don't think I've ever been so positively gleeful to jog/walk on a treadmill for 45 minutes lol.
I noticed afterward that DS1 has a runny nose though. I hope he's not getting sick. Sorry for all the potential germs, other childcare kids. We're going to lay low the rest of the day and watch movies to see if some rest might help.
Power's back on, hurray! But apparently our internet is still out?!? WTF. DH (who left work to come home) is stomping around really angry, he needs to get back to work!
I think from now on, I'm going to stick with getting the kids photos done in late August/early September and plan on using those for Christmas cards and then maybe get our family photos done in the spring.
I like milestone photos and the later summer hits DD and DS2 close to their birthdays and DS1 his half birthday. If I can go for March, it will be just past DS2's birthday and the other two's half.
All this is spurred by the fact that UPS just dropped off my zazzle Christmas cards since I just used photos from earlier and skipped out on a family holiday shoot that I'm normally scrambling around trying to get done about now. I have never had my cards so together so early and it's thrilling to be able to get this part of the holiday checked off my list.
Maybe I'll hit up portrait innovations for a $20 package in their Christmas outfits the same day we visit Santa.

You guys both need to chill out.
The power is going to go out more frequently if you live in the country. Stuff is usually fine in the refrigerator/freezer for several hours. (i.e. give it a couple of hours before you start panicking about the generator and have him rush home from work in the future.)
Have you reset the router/modem? It often gets messed up after the power goes out and takes awhile to come back online. Wait awhile before panicking. (If a hard reset of plugging and unplugging doesn't work, it might just need a few minutes.) This happens to our Comcast often when the power goes out.

Yep, power outages are frequent in the sticks. We didn't even really assume it was serious until it passed the 4 hour mark. Either learn to use the generator or learn to chill.

H and I went to bed earlier then M last night. We put him down at his regular time of 8pm but he was playing and having a grand old time in his crib. We were exhuasted so went to bed around 9:30ish and last thing I heard before falling asleep was M talking and singing in his crib.
I also think he may have a shopping problem. This weekend when we drove close to the shopping center Target is in he yelled "Target, Target, Target" I know the nanny probably goes there once a week with him.
Fair enough sjh722 and @tokenhoser. I would not normally be so freaked out. I know food in the fridge is okay for several hours. We just have a $100 irreplaceable fancy farm turkey in there and $250 of groceries sitting out with no way to cool them. And no money to repurchase them. Hence the freak out.
I was not concerned about the internet, DH was. He was throwing a hissy fit. We both knew he could tether to his phone if necessary. But he cycled the modem and all is well. The internet freak out was not me

I live 30+ minutes from Costco and a big grocery store. I regularly run a lot of errands at once and have $250+ of groceries riding around in my car for several hours. None of us have been food poisoned yet. Now you know for next time.
My coworker had a baby in April. She thinks she might be pregnant again but is too afraid to test. She is EBF and hasn't had her period back yet so she has no idea if she's "late" or anything. But she feel nauseous often and light headed and other symptoms. It would put her due in July or August, which as an elementary school teacher really stinks. I've told her that waiting to test won't change the outcome (got that line from here ) so we'll see how long she holds out.

I'll be this breezy when I'm feeding just us. But my older-ish parents and DH's 94yo grandmother for Tday? Newp.

I am not looking forward to the jury's decision in the Michael Brown case. I have a feeling no matter what is said some people will be angry and destructive.
I'm mad at Target because they don't seem to carry what I would consider reasonable maternity jeans. Or rather, they're out of my size (and every size except tiny) in the one boot-cut style they offer. Also apparently they only sell them online, so I can't even go to the local Target to see if they have my size. I refuse to be pregnant in jeggings that I can't try on and probably wouldn't fit me. I just want to wear pants with a stretchy top already! I don't have maternity jeans from DD because I wasn't pregnant during any cold months. Sigh.

Order a couple of sizes on line - they will ship for free most likely, and you can return what you don't like to the store.

I have officially spent double our agreed upon budget for A's Christmas presents. Omg, how do you stop buying all the things? Seriously. I need an intervention.

My contractions stopped after 3 hours. I'm walking around trying to get her going again and nothing. I want to have this baby so I can send my mom home. We need some space! Plus I just want her out.

I lost a brand new Kendra Scott earring that was a gift Don't see it anywhere but may have lost it on my walk to get lunch. I wonder if they will just sell me one?
Hey, file this under creepy small world stuff: rugbywife, the photographer you used for your Christmas pictures took the photos at my bff's wedding!
lol…him or her (there were two studios involved)…so I know him because he is married to my old teaching partner…he was booked for our wedding (she attended, he shot the other wedding, lol)…but suggested our wedding photographer to us…when we were there on Sunday I mentioned that my SIL was going to his next minis session and that's when he realized that who my SIL was, that her son is in his son's SK class (which I already knew, lol) and that her husband used to work with him.

It is indeed a small small world...
Ha, him. I don't know where my friend found him but she's a teacher in pee.l district.
Just got notified that DH is working through Thanksgiving and the weekend. Which is fine except he is supposed to watch DS on Friday while I work. I think it will still work out but blah. Also, now I am not sure what to make on Thursday. He could eat early but I'm not sure I want to do a turkey for a hurried lunch. I might just roast a chicken.
Or I could have a baby, that would fix our scheduling issues.
