So, I think I would seriously like to install a nanny cam or something similar to be able to check in on my dog during the day. This might make me paranoid, but I don't care lol.
Today right before H left for work (and I was already at work), he said Rox had bad diarrhea and it worried both of us that she might be sick and would be left alone all day. He fortunately was able to run home at lunch to check on her (she is fine and her poop was normal later if you're interested lol), but similar things have happened before. I work OOT and it's impossible for me to check on her during the day. With H's work schedule, it's not something he can do every day. I kind of want it just for my peace of mind.
But I know absolutely nothing about nanny cams. Is this what I would want? I'm pretty sure she spends 95% of her time alone in the living room, so I think just one camera in that room would be OK. I would obviously want something where I could check in on either a computer or my Smart Phone. But I really don't want to spend an arm and a leg.
Any brand recommendations? Is it really simple and self-explanatory to set up? Does anyone else do this just for a dog?
I have 4 foscam cameras and I use the ip cam viewer app. I've been really happy with them. They have night vison, I can move them in any direction, listen or speak through them and they record to a cloud. But, while they only take a few minutes to set up and are easy to operate, I think the dropcam is more plug and play. I chose the foscam because they are half the cost and wanted numerous cameras without making a huge investment.
